What happens to the paper ballots? Shouldn’t there be a manual count of the votes to back up the results?

I thought the paper ballots were less prone to vote fraud, now, I am not at all sure.

Not that Romney was great, BUT, Obama just had Benghazi, very little crowds and Romney had large crowds, etc.
Then when previously counted precincts that had a decent number going for McCain in 2008. Romney maybe got only 10% of what McCain received...
AND the counter of the votes was a Obama supporter residing in Spain.

Isn’t there a tweet somewhere posted by someone that also proves voter fraud took place? Cruz is a crook. I read that on Twitter, and saw it on YouTube, so it must be true.
I think it was during the Wisconsin vote that one of the poll workers posted in FR, an irregularity which left him/her suspicious to the degree that he/she was concerned about being eliminated from the position for saying something. as I recall, someone came in and put a usb stick into the voting machine.
The Pollster didn’t know why the usb stick was put into the machine, or what the function of the stick was, but it is possible that the stick was merely part of the function of the machine (doubtful, but possible since the machine was already up and running),it’s possible that the usb stick acted much like the memory card did in the video posted on this thread, and it’s possible that the stick contained a program to alter the election results, and it could have merely made a back up copy of all transactions.
In any event, I was under the impression that putting the stick into the machine after voting began, or after the machines were up and running was not common, therefore warrants questioning.
We have cameras on every street corner it seems, anymore. I see no reason why votes can’t be hand counted with cameras recording things...even though cameras can be altered and looped.
But each stack of counted votes should be labled with the name and contact information of each and every person who ever handled that stack. Each changed box to receive votes should be presented as empty prior to locking the box to prepare it to receive votes to establish that it’s empty and not prestacked.
Each stack of counted votes should be available to anybody who wants to count them, and the public should be able at any election, to witness the counting of the votes...ie behind a glass window so they can count, too if they want.
That happens to paper ballots fed into a machine such is these machines? Each ballot should indeed be kept as a hard copy record.
Other machines have switches and dials that you set before you pull the final lever. Why can’t these machines be forced to present a ticket to the voter to verify the voter’s selection before the enter lever is pulled? And what assurance does the voter have that the machine recorded internally, accurately?
I personally have fought with machines where I made selections, but the machine didn’t hold MY selection and I had to go back multiple times to reset my candidate selection.
There are multiple millions of people who vote, and it’s reasonable to want to utilize a system that counts votes quicker and more accurately. Human error exists also..innocent human error. It’s easy to get sloppy when you get tired, and everyone wants immediate results. I don’t know how many people it takes to count 5 million votes, or how long it takes to record them, but after the mishap in Florida in 2000, it’s not hard to see which systems don’t work well!
They had to count them all by hand anydarnway.
