It was about a general who marched into the 4077th and then, among things, ordered that the hospital be moved closer to the front causing Hawkeye and Trapper to question his judgement on things. The main part of the episode focused on a chopper pilot (who was black) who was told by Hawkeye to refuse to obey a command by the general, as Hawkeye by this time knew that the general was basically off his rocker. Hawkeye is then brought up on charges of insubordination and at the start of the trial, the general absolves the chopper pilot of any wrongdoing, but asks him to “do a number, as it’s in your blood, son, isn’t it”. The general then starts into a minstrel song and dance and waltzes out of the trial, basically the whole thing ending then and there as everyone realizes that Hawkeye was correct in his assumptions about the general’s state of mind, so to speak.

I was a huge fan of MASH. Don’t remember that one. I’ll look it up though. I can only imagine what the press would do if this was aired. I doubt it’s in the reruns.
