'Innovation Center' tries to reinvent Medicare

They work for the government and even their closest relatives have no idea what they do. It’s not because they’re spies or nuclear scientists, but because their jobs are so arcane: trying to reinvent Medicare to improve it, and maybe save taxpayers money.

In a sprawling, nondescript office park near Baltimore, some 360 people at the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation are trying to change the health care system, using the government’s premier insurance program as leverage. A free country doesn’t need an “Innovation Center.” We have (had) a free enterprise system that constantly updated and innovated new processes, materials, supply chains and the like. These “Innovation Centers” are how the totalitarians amongst us plan on making us like it when they give it to us hard.

If you want to reinvent Medicare, you have to un-invent demographics.

Medicare worked fine when there were 5-6 workers contributing to every recipient.

Two to one? Not so much.

Cue the "I Paid In! The Government Promised Me!" brigade in 3...2...1...

Every year the Death Panels slice off the lifespan is awesome for the budget numbers of Medicare and Soc Sec....
