Gaza Belt farmers continue work despite Hamas threats

Farmers in the Gaza Belt continue to work as usual - a few dozen meters from the border fence - despite ongoing threats from Hamas.

While Palestinian media has reported heavy engineering tools along the Gaza side of the border, and both MKs and the media have stated Hamas is rebuilding its terror tunnels, the farmers remain unfazed.

"We don't feel pressure," Elad Katzir, irrigation coordinator for Kibbutz Nir Oz, told Walla! News Monday. "We are used to it and working up until the last meter."

"Today is my 40th birthday," he continued. "It's been 40 years that I've worked (the fields) and I plan to work another 40."

"We heard rumors about digging but received no instructions from security, so we continue to work normally," he added. "The state should take care of farmers and that we can be sure that if there were no farmers, (Israel) would not be here and there would be no quiet near the fence."

Eshkol Regional Council head Gadi Yarkoni will meet with locals Tuesday to discuss the latest developments near the fence.

Good for them. All power to the farmers. If there were more of them on the Pali side, there'd be less violence. Just produce something, dammit.

The Paleostinians like the rest of the Muslim Arab world know how to do 2 things really, really well:

1) Kill

2) be killed

This is what they love. This is what they do best. This is what they strive for. This is their religion, way of life and outlook.

These people are not ripe for Western civilization, innovative thinking or progress on any level. They know not Democracy, fair play, rule of law or civility. They deserve to stay underground like rats that they are.
Maybe one day, the will grow up, mature and realize that life has value but right now, stay underground and rot.

Those that are cultivating neat rows of crops, despite pressure from Hamas to go rot underground, however, should be encouraged. It’s a good sign.

Of course there are simple Paleostinian farmers (called “Falach”) who want nothing of war and poverty that HAMAS and before them, the PLO brought down upon them BY CHOICE!

Before Israel pulled out of the Gaza strip, they thrived. Then, they voted for HAMAS. Now all the resources and cash go towards building attack tunnels into Israel.

They will try to attack on this holiday of Passover but the IDF is ready for them. Interesting, while the Jews celebrate the Angel of Death Passing over their homes in Egypt, the Paleostinians will try to bring in the Angel of Death by PassingUNDER them...
