Two members of a Turkish nationalist youth group were detained after trying to put a sack over the head of a U.S. soldier at an air base in southern Turkey, according to Turkish media reports.

The state-run Anadolu Agency reported Sunday that two members of the right-wing group, Yalcin Semir Akarsu and Cenk Kizilirmak, were placed under house arrest after the incident that occurred Saturday at the Incirlik air base in Adana province.

There was no immediate reaction from U.S. or Turkish officials.

Turkey's private Dogan news agency says Kizilirmak filmed his friend as he chased the soldier.

The nationalist Turkish Youth Union posted footage on Twitter in which the man identified by Dogan as Akarsu is heard as saying, “You put a sack over our soldiers’ heads in 2003. You are responsible for that and for the terrorism in our country.”

He was referring to an incident in July 2003 in which a group of Turkish special forces operating in northern Iraq were arrested by U.S. soldiers and led away with hoods over their heads to be interrogated. They were released after 60 hours in response to protests by top Turkish leaders, but what became known as “the Hood event” was seen by many Turks as a deliberate insult.

There is a global blockbuster movie from 2007 that originated in Turkey.

it is entitled “Valley of the Wolves”

Millions of people around the world have seen it and it was an Anti-American fantasy film about Iraq that was an inverse of Rambo.

Incredibly, major American movie stars like Gary Buse and Billy Zane starred as major actors in the film that incited massive hatred of the US military around the world.

I honestly believe US mitliary families should be able to sue Zane and Buse for their slander in the movies.

They played US military personnel engaged in horrific slaughters. The movie is predicated on supposed US humiliation of Turkish forces — who apparently got lost in Northern Iraq during the US invasion of Iraq in 2003.

Buse plays a Jewish US military doctor who harvests organs from innocent Iraqis to ship off to Jews in London and NYC. Notice the Jewish blood libel argument here.

Buse and Zane should be permanently unemployed for what they have done to American soldiers.

Husband was in Turkey back in the mid-sixties; on the
Russia-Turkey border, AF with SAC. Didn’t fly as far as I
know; worked in personnel seeing that they got paid. Spent
a month in Greece at the end of that situation. Year in
Turkey. Was rough. Big earthquake while there.

Why would US soldiers be on an Air Force base in Turkey?

I did a google map. Found several KC-135's, a bunch of fighter aircraft, and a few A-10's.

Didn't see anything Army.

He could have been an airman mistakenly referred to as a soldier. Civilians tend not to make such distinctions.
