Morrisville, N.C. The president of the North Carolina NAACP was escorted off an American Airlines flight Friday night.
Rev. William Barber was returning to Raleigh from Washington, D.C., when, he says, he was removed from the flight.

Barber said a passenger in a seat nearby was talking loudly as the plane filled up and asked the stewardess to request the passenger lower his voice. After requesting assistance from the flight attendant, Barber said he overheard the nearby passenger making "distasteful" and "disparaging" comments about him.
According to Barber's statement, the passenger said he had problems with "those people" and spoke harshly about Barber having to purchase two seats on the plane.
Barber said he stood up and turned around to address the man before the flight crew gave safety instructions but was asked to leave before the flight took off.
"As I heard these things, I became more and more uncomfortable, especially since he was behind me," Barber said. "The attitude with which he spoke, and my experiences with others who have directed similar harsh, sometimes threatening words, emails, and calls at me, came to my mind. Because he was behind me when he made the comments and because of my disability, the only way I could see him when I tried to speak to him as one human being to another was to stand and turn around." Was he born white too?
What a fat pig!!!
His nickname in North Carolina is “Barbour, the Buffet Slayer”...
....sheeesh, put down the biscuit
“According to Barber’s statement ...”
Yeah, and we should believe anything this racist windbag says because?
Something tells me that Mr. Barber might have been more responsible for his being removed from that plane than he’s letting on.
I can only imagine his health problems, not to mention his monthly food bill.
That must be a more recent photo. On his website, he looks much slimmer. Deal with it, Rev. when you are that big, for whatever reason, people will react. Next time, try to ‘be the bigger man’ and just ignore the wisecracks.
His weight is not a disability. His political ideology is another thing.
He probably needs three seats to himself, to be truly comfortable. Even then, the arm rest will not go down, don’t even ask about seat belts. I have relatives almost that big. They travel by car, bus or by train, NOT in the air.
And here I thought Moby Dick was white...
That ain’t Jabba the Hutt, that’s Jabba the Whole Damn Village.
He kind of reminds me of that guy in “The Godfather” who is rehearsing to himself about how he wants to thank Don Vito Corleone for letting him attend the wedding reception.
Wow...he’s way beyond two seats. He needs the whole row.
I’m fat, but really. That guy must tip the scales at about 450. He really should buy two seats. Maybe three.
I'd bet the farm the employees and police were a lot more gracious than Barber. I'd love to hear the other side of the story.
