Doesn't match any real attack profile---merely intimidation with a showboat close pass for attention. A real two aircraft shipping attack would be an on the deck, under the radar, launch just short of the visible horizon. Multiple inbound profiles simultaneously detected 15 to 20 seconds at best before closure with your position.

Layered defenses allow probably two, optimistically three counters within ten seconds, given an alert crew and a timely weapons hot authorization. Medium range, then short range counter missiles, and point blank with sea-whiz.

You don’t think at least a warning shot was warranted to send a clear signal this isn’t unacceptable and that we’re prepared and willing to respond?
