Wednesday at a town hall hosted by CNNs Anderson Cooper, Republican presidential hopeful Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was asked about the potential of his former opponent Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) being a potential running mate, given that if Rubio made a deal that gave Cruz his delegates, it could push him over the top to the GOP nomination.

Good example of why Cruz supporters are either liars or ridiculously ignorant. Cruz has had an open love fest with Rube-o since the end of January, which was actually the major reason I stopped supporting him.

Be useful in the general. I could see a large Hispanic turnout for that based on this.

So now an anchor baby would become in line to be President, and yet Cruz supporters think he holds the Constitution close to his heart.

Rafael Edward Cruz has always been a Bush guy, right?! A fire-breathing, tea-partying, anti-Washington insurgent kind of Bush guy, right?!

You would be a fool to bring him back from the political grave yard.

And George Bush the Elder was quite against Reagan in 1980 until they made up and George the Elder managed to do a good enough fake job to get in as Reagan III in '88.
If Cruz signs on Rubio, he can get within shooting distance of Trump. If Trump can mend fences with Rubio (and his delegates), he makes the "deal" that ices the nomination. It's politics. Palin was able to accept the VP nomination with McCain, but still be for ANWR drilling.
At some point, the Kasich and Rubio delegates HAVE to come into play, as they will be more moveable on the first ballot than the Cruz or Trump delegates. We cannot get everything we want.

Context is key here:
He was asked about Rubio - he didn’t bring it up.
Cruz is trying to pull the party together behind him. You don’t do that by saying “There is no way I would consider him.”

Never has one man sold out so quickly and so completely as Ted Cruz, his fall has been tragic, someday I know he will look back and regret this as he reflects on his life. He could have been such a great influence on this country. He and Trump could have united and turned this country around, it’s our last chance, after this election it is gone forever. If only he could have waited and not joined the establishment. There is still time, I will never, ever, vote for him for President but I would like to see him as Vice President. Perhaps after he proves himself as VP I will vote for him. There is still time for him to cast off the establishment.

Not to mention the fact that Rubio would suck the chrome off of a trailer hitch to get the VP slot since his job prospects are pretty dim. Well, and the fact the he'd enjoy doing it.
