That's a fact. The 17th Amendment, not the Civil War, was what put States Rights in a coffin and buried them. Now Senators are merchandise for sale to the highest national bidder and no matter what they do once in office, the voters who elected them are totally helpless to do anything about it for six long years.

State Legislatures should choose the Senators, but it's really funny how most of the "principled conservatives" can't stand the idea of a Federal Senator being in subject to removal from office by the people who sent them to DC. That makes them liars every time they run their mouths about how the Federal government isn't the answer to our problems because they damn sure love the power to dictate to anyone and everyone just as much as the democrat fascists do.

The huge pus filled boil that the DC bubble spreading into Maryland and Virginia has become needs lanced, drained, and treated with Ointment of Undiluted Constitution.

Repeal the 17th and the States have rights again. Repeal the 16th the whole Globalist sham falls apart leaving the Federal government to live on what gets from tariffs and a few other things just like it did through most of our history and all of our history when we became a great nation rather than a nation of bread and circuses. That means the Federal government shrinks to a size somewhere near what it actually should be.

“Repealing the 17th would fix everything within a decade.”

So corrupt state legislatures will elect honest US Senators?
