2nd Vote Identifies "Better Alternative" to PayPal

2nd Vote Identifies "Better Alternative" to PayPal

Last week, many 2nd Vote members asked about alternative ways to make and process online payments after e-commerce giant PayPal joined the liberal misinformation campaign in North Carolina. The California based company announced that it would stand against North Carolina's common sense protections for small business owners and religious liberty and withdrew plans for a global operations center in Charlotte in an attempt to bully the state economically.

Subsequently, our research team noticed a growing company called ProPay that provided many products for online merchants.

After looking very closely at ProPay's record of advocacy on the issues, the company has earned a score of 3.6 (Lean Conservative) according 2nd Vote's scoring criteria.

Click here for more background information on ProPay. Remember, companies like PayPal can only support advocacy with the dollars we spend with them.

There's just a few more days until the income tax filing deadline and, if you are considering using an online tax preparation service, 2nd Vote recommends making sure that the company you patronize aligns with your values.

On 2nd Vote's scorepage, you can see where the following tax preparation services stand on the issues:
Jackson Hewitt - 3 (Neutral)
H&R Block - 2.9 (Neutral)
Intuit - 1.8 (Liberal)

See our blogpost from last week that exposed TurboTax's parent company, Intuit, for funding anti-religious liberty advocates to the tune of $85,000.

2nd Vote in the News
Over the weekend, 2nd Vote was mentioned in a OneNewsNow.com article for helping expose the businesses opposed to legislation protecting religious liberty in North Carolina and Georgia.

Thank you for all your support and for helping us spread the word on corporate advocacy. Please consider donating $100, $75, $50, $25, or even $10 today to help us continue our work of finding where companies stand on these important issues and keeping you informed.

Thank you again for your support,

This was an e-mail letter from 2nd Vote to subscribers, but I included the link to their web newsletter. A good idea to search for alternatives, and here's one.

What is venmo.com’s philosophy on conservative issues?

I discovered 2nd Vote several years ago as a resource which researches companies for conservative or liberal leanings. I use their phone app constantly.

Give it a try. And consider contributing.

This is great. I have long advocated for some method to insure we don't finance liberal companies.

One of my ideas was an app that allowed you to look at the bar code of a product you are thinking of buying, and the app will tell you if the company is liberal or conservative.

We need to be working to wipe out our enemies financially. No dollars, no support for liberal causes.

I’ve mentioned a million times on here I wish there was a way to find out where a company stands or that we should start a list!!!!

Better late than never :)

That's a fantastic idea! You might get with 2nd Vote and collaborate if you have any technical skills.

Yes, we must view this as an open war on our soil. And war is uncomfortable. We need to get used to that idea, especially of doing without if need be.

Also, look up Faith Based Consumer for another organization which rates companies on conservative or liberal support.

That's a fantastic idea! You might get with 2nd Vote and collaborate if you have any technical skills.

I write a lot of code, but I haven't done any apps. I could learn how to do it, but the task would be better suited to someone that already has experience developing apps.

I've ran across people who say they could write an app, but they claim the problem is the database which the app would rely on to make it's decisions.

Perhaps this "2nd Vote" organization has the necessary database to drive this idea?

Yes, we must view this as an open war on our soil. And war is uncomfortable. We need to get used to that idea, especially of doing without if need be.

More importantly we need to make sure that people know there is a financial cost to standing against us. By chopping off a few financial heads, companies will then start to insist that they are "neutral".

I've also thought that if we have any contacts in the Muslim world, we need to make certain various Muslim countries are aware of the fact that PayPal supports homosexuality, and if done properly, these Muslim countries might be induced to banning the company from doing business with their citizens.

Nothing like a multi-billion dollar bitchslap to wake a company up to the fact that they need to either stay out of politics, or pick the right side.

I know nothing about Propal, only heard of them today. They can’t be any worse than PayPal, who takes 4 days to move funds from/to your funding account.

FYI, I used TurboTax since day one until two years ago when I finally got fed up with their shenanigans, which took a different form each and every year. Two years ago they lied about the capabilities of their flagship Deluxe version in which they deliberately removed large amounts of critical functionality that had always been present in prior versions, but obfuscated the removal on their marketing materials.

I took my unopened copy back to Costco for a refund and emailed H&R a copy of the receipt and they sent me a FREE license to download THEIR Deluxe version. Turns out I like H&R software WAY better than Turbotax: no BS about providing a plethora of personal info. to the company just to USE the software, and way less clicks to wade through garbage screens to get the work done. AND the software imported the prior year’s Turbotax file flawlessly.

This year H&R sent me a coupon for half off on this year’s version.

I highly recommend H&R Deluxe.

ProPay is owned by Wells Fargo Bank, Walnut Creek, CA.

Wells Fargo is well-known in Mexifornia for foreclosing on homes it has dubious rights to do so.
