Israeli cosmetics firm Ahava to be fully acquired by a Chinese investment group for $77 million. JERUSALEM (JTA) -- The Israeli cosmetics firm Ahava will be fully acquired by a Chinese investment group for $77 million.

The Fosun Group on Sunday night in Jerusalem signed an agreement to purchase the Dead Sea skin care products company, the Israeli business daily Globes reported.

Ahava has been a target of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel over its factory in Mitzpeh Shalem, located about one mile from the western shores of the Dead Sea, as well as initiatives targeting only products made by Israelis in Judea and Samaria and other disputed territories, namely the Golan Heights and eastern Jerusalem.

I just had my neighbor bring me back some Ahava products from Israel, since they went there for 3 weeks. Glad I got the products while the gettin’ was good. Once the Chinese start manufacturing the product, it will be total garbage, not worth buying. It is a real shame, because Ahava has been my preferred brand of hand lotions for years. They are the only brand which kept my hands from getting chapped and actually bleeding in the winter. I wonder if the Chinese will continue to use Dead Sea mud, or if they will substitute some of the filthy ooze from one of their polluted rivers.

The Dead Sea stays, though. They aren’t moving it to China.

The purchase is in anticipation of what will soon happen to the ChiCom Yuan. See West Coast, USA housing prices for additional examples (off China-shore investment).

The ChiComs will probably replace Holy ingredients with battery acid and their toxic waste, destroying the Ahava name.

I’m stocking up too.
