Former U.S. Rep. Mel Reynolds is in federal custody following his arrest Monday morning at the Atlanta airport, federal authorities confirmed.
U.S. District Judge John Darrah issued an arrest warrant for Reynolds at the end of March after the former congressman missed a court appearance to remain in South Africa at the side of his daughter. Reynolds said she was facing spinal surgery and is possibly suffering from cervical cancer.

I’m guessing he’s probably a conservative...no need to state the reason here...
Nope. Commie miscreant corrupt pervert.
Democrat - just looked it up
He is black and a Democrat. The laws don’t apply to him!
I didn’t see anywhere in the article where the former tax-cheat congressman was a Democrat.
By the way, you would think that a Harvard grad would be bright enough to realize that you have to pay your taxes.
Does SA prosecute edophiles?
Nah.......
FR discussion from almost 11 years ago: link.
He’s a Democrat from Chicago who was convicted of statutory rape of a 16 year old back in the 1990’s.
Trying to hide behind his daughter’s skirts, while playing the Race Card. Because it was clearly racist to make him file tax returns. Only Crackers should have to obey the law. It’s reparations, you see.
Chicago Values.
At this rate the Legislature’s next meeting will have to meet in the local lockup.
This guy is something else. Read his Wiki page .....

Wow! What a dirtbag!
I had forgotten about commutation of sentence. Thanks for the link.
“I didnt see anywhere in the article where the former tax-cheat congressman was a Democrat.”
They didn’t think it was necessary since they posted a picture!
What’s truly amazing is.. Reynolds, when elected, was seen as a “sane” replacement for the psychotic, white-hating racist Gus Savage.
Huh, a conservative. Nary a one anywhere to be found.
Savage lost his congressional seat in 1992 when he was defeated in the Democratic primary amid accusations he made improper sexual advances to a female Peace Corps volunteer during a trip to Africa. His successor, Mel Reynolds, was convicted of bank fraud and criminal sexual abuse. Reynolds’ successor was Jesse Jackson Jr., who in June completed serving a prison sentence for corruption.
They sure know how to pick ‘em in Chicago.
“President Bill Clinton commuted the sentence for bank fraud”
You see that little nugget? geez.
Nowhere does it say what party he belongs to, so I am guessing he’s a demorat.
