Despite Donald Trump winning Virginia on Super Tuesday, two of three delegates elected in the first district convention here are supporters of rival Ted Cruz which could matter if a second ballot were to take place at the national convention.
In the 9th congressional district, Donald Trump took over 47 percent of the votes on Super Tuesday. In Virginia's primary for this district, Ted Cruz won only about 19 percent of the votes.
GOP delegates from Virginia are required to vote as allocated by voters in the primary in the first ballot at the national convention, but are able to vote for whoever they choose in successive ballots.
In Virginia's primary, Trump received 17 delegates, whereas Cruz had only received eight.

I’ve learned more about primaries this season than I ever wanted to know. It all stinks.
Cruz is foreign born. He doesn’t have 8 state majorities and he is a liar and a poltroon. There is more exploding soon on his affairs and he is a cultist in the Seven Mountain Dominionist. Hang in there cruzers,( at the end of that rope).

Trump is not very organized.
Cruz is really racking up the delegates!!
I hope he’s not surprised when his delegates vote for Paul Ryan.
It’s like a carnival game
For your dollar/vote, you only get one toss of the ring
Second toss - its still your dollar but someone else gets to throw the ring
I really don’t care who the delegates support. Bound Trump delegates are voting for Trump on all ballot(S). Period. If they do not Trump voters will not be bound to the GOP in November.
Does Cruz supporter Mr. Kilgore of Virginia really want to fire that shot. Does Principled Conservative Ted Cruz really want to gift wrap SCOTUS and the Senate to the Dems? I think not. Cruzers need to think hard where this road ends. There is no good ending for their candidate and more importantly this country.
Democrazy in action. Populist candidates are unwanted by the elite.
Cruz is being used and abused by the eGOP.
Watch what happens.
Me, too. I never knew before that delegates could be bought off to disregard the will of the voters.
If Trump gets 85-90% of the way to the 1237, and Cruz only has about 60%, and Cruz gets the nomination, the Republican Party will not only lose my presidential vote, but I will never vote for a Republican again.
If the nation is lost, then it’s lost.
No use kidding ourselves any longer.
We will not have a man as capable as Donald Trump again, if he is replaced with Cruz or a different GOPe plant.
Trust me. Cruz is going absolutely nowhere. He is a pawn of the establishment but it all fails under the rules and the rules will never be changes on the convention floor ( absolutely necessary) . Cruz need to drop out and save the party. He has a chance for Supreme Court today but it is slipping away.

Delegate drama, LOL, Trump is the nominee, GoPe may be dumb but their not suicidal. Cruz political future outside Texas is done.
This is getting worse by the day. Cruz is Obama II....I hope this ends well and the country can move forward but im having doubts.
That is just more evidence that he is the true outsider we have all wanted. This is his first campaign, and he is not hiring political insiders to run it for him. So he is learning, OTJ.
I really hope he does not hire any of the Republican political consultants who so reliably deliver elections to the Democrats.
I predict people are going to get very sick of this. Cruz is like Hillary and Bill, shady and NIxonian.
How you vote does not matter to them.
There is so much irony to the Cruz campaign.
Remember how the Cruzers accused Trump of running simply to give the Presidency to Hillary?
Cruz is still in the race simply to deny the nomination to Trump, thereby giving the election to Hillary.
It looks like the GOPe is committing suicide.
Trump delegates vote Trump on all ballot(s). Easy line in the sand. If the Cuban-Canadian steps over that line it is RIP GOP.
