He is not saying that at all. Of course that would be the left’s interpretation. All the Pope said is that gay people should be treated with respect. Indeed ALL people should be treated with respect and dignity. It doesnt mean their lifestyle is not sinful or they should be given special rights.
And I cant stand this pope, but the leftist media always puts words in people’s moths that they never said!

Then his timing is just awful or he has no clue what goes on the real world. Gays are not a persecuted minority in the West. By no stretch of the imagination is this true. The violence, disease, addiction they face are brought upon by their own behavior. Governments are in a unprecedented historical push to accept and promote homosexuality. 2000 year-old Catholic concepts of man/woman, rights of children, and marriage are being flushed away in the blink of an eye. And all he can do is put the onus on Catholics by implying we are the bigots.

This Pope is inching towards gay weddings in catholic churches. If he lives another 10 years, I wager we'll see it happen.

Correct.

I’ve said this many times here: My nephew is gay. Lives a productive life, gainfully employed, law abiding, you name it. The fact that we should have to say things like I just did is wrong. He’s a good kid, period.

Nothing he does in his life impacts me or my marriage. I’m well past all the drama surrounding the “issue”. If he’s a sinner, so be it. He’ll make his own piece with God. But the Bible has so many contradictions in it, what inferences are we to draw with absolute certainty?

You live your life the best you can. Always. You treat people like you would want to be treated. You leave your world better because you were in it. Not worse.

That’s the way I read it too. I haven’t read all of it but does he actually call homosexuality sin?

You're not the only one here who isn't upset about this , with all the stupid things this pope has said this is not offensive and has nothing to do with criminal behavior like molestation.

If more conservatives could learn to accept the facts that some people (republicans included) are gay, and some people (republicans included) prefer cannabis to alcohol. The party would be more aligned the true constitutional values of Life, Liberty, and the persist of happiness. And the party would grow larger as well both attracting libertarians and dissolutioned Regan democrats.

Let me open with this....While not Catholic myself, love and accept Catholics as my brothers and sisters in Christ. I don’t accept the Pope as “Vicar of Christ” but am willing to listen to whoever holds that position as a Christian leader. So I’m not in any way “anti-Catholic”.

With that being said, it SURE seems like this Pope says an awful lot of stuff that has to be correctly interpreted, or walked back by others, or clarified as to what he really meant as opposed to what it sounds like. I don’t recall nearly as much need to do this with JP II. Sure, JP II had some positions I disagreed with on things like the death penalty, but it never had to be clarified what he meant.

I’ve also noticed when this Pope says something that must be clarified, without exception to my knowledge, it is ALWAYS something where he appears to be Marxist, or globalist, or socially liberal. He never seems to accidentally or awkwardly state anything that is “too capitalist” or too much in favor of personal responsibility that a flunky has to run out and say “this is what he meant.

My feeling is that he is Clintonesqe in that he wants to move Christianity to the left, and is doing so by floating trial balloons. Regardless l, God’s word is clear. It does not need constant reinterpretation. There is no version 2.0. Just like the woman and the well, Jesus message is clear. To the Christian, he says love and forgive. To the sinner, in a part of the verse no one cares to repeat, he says “Go, and sin no more”. This is NOT Jesus calling for tolerance of sin. It is a picture of grace and the opportunity to turn from sin. There is no “dignity” in living a sinful lifestyle. The pope or anyone who reads the Bible should see the distinction

I completely agree. I don't like this "Pope", but the MSM does have an agenda and reads too much into things when it suits them.

All the Pope said is that gay people should be treated with respect. Indeed ALL people should be treated with respect and dignity. It doesnt mean their lifestyle is not sinful or they should be given special rights.

Even using the term "sexual orientation" is elevating homosexual perversion to the same level as sex between a man and a woman, a man and a wife. Sex within marriage to a man and a woman is not only sanctioned by God, but He created it. Jesus affirmed sex in marriage (Matthew 19:5).

What Jorge and the Catholic church is doing is saying that sin is not sin. It is leading people astray, and God does not look at all favorably on this practice. In fact, God says He will judge it most severely.

Confusion is of the Devil.

"A pastor cannot feel that it is enough simply to apply moral laws...as if they were stones to throw at people's lives,"

That is an incredibly uncharitable calumny against those who wish to speak the Truth.

"By thinking that everything is black and white, we sometimes close off the way of grace and growth."

What part of anal intercourse is other that black and white, and how exactly is a faggot supposed to experience growth and grace though butt****ing?

Jesus wants a Church attentive to the goodness which the Holy Spirit sows in the midst of human weakness

What goodness, pray tell, does the Holy Spirit sow when a man masturbates inside another's fecal-slimed, E coli infected colon?
