Actually it isn't a small degree. Voter fraud does not fall within the realm of responsibilities of the CJCS. Nor party politics.

If the American electorate was too distracted and didn't pursue becoming delegates or part of the party leadership in order to effect change, that isn't General Dunford's fault. Lazy Americans are throwing a temper tantrum because liberty and justice is not being delivered to their front door, so they project it onto someone else.

I see the word "traitor" and "treason" being thrown around, and the idiots that use them don't know what they mean. Public school laziness.

FR is Cruz. Anyone dissing him on this site is not a conservative. More likely a lib infiltrator.

Hope that was tongue-in-cheek or you forgot the /s - else you ain't been paying attention.

You do not know General Dunford, nor what he has risked.

The American electorate is coward. That includes you. You don't like it? Run for office. Organize a demonstration. Become a party delegate.

The military asks the people to send qualified, sensible public servants. Did General Dunford elect Obama twice?

No.

First of all, he isn't allowing the destruction of the military. If you did the research you will find that the job of CJCS isn't to provide funding. That comes from Congress. That is the electorate's responsibility. Not his.

The low-information, lazy, American electorate is throwing fits because their apathy is now bearing fruit. And they don't like it, so they project their temper tantrum at a warrior who plays the hand he is dealt.

a hard working warrior who spends his day protecting you...It's his vocation. Why should he give up his job for an apathetic citizenry?

Why should he devote his life to serving and protecting them? if they are so unworthy of his sacrifice.

Some have sacrificed more than vocation. Do you question those?

and yet states so far have sided with ted.

i’m voting for trump in NY but would be fine with ted if he gets the nod.

Everyone stop crying about the unfair primary rules.

the RNC isn’t fair to him. The delegate process isn’t fair to him.

life’s not fair. He needs to grow up if he’s to get to 1237

Let me get this straight. Americans elect Barky. His policies and leadership have shaped our military into what it is. And now they expect one 4-star to resign. Because of their votes?

Let's play out your thinking. Barky accepts his resignation. And then what? He selects another. Does the next one need to resign? And so on? Running this to its logical conclusion, all general officers have to walk. Because Americans chose poorly.

How do our enemies respond during all of this?

How many election cycles have we gone through? If American wanted a substantive change, it should have happened.

It's a romantic view of a white knight riding in to save us from ourselves. Too much television.

Amen.

There are a lot of comments on this thread being made by people with no clue. General Dunford was Commandant when the Marine Corps put together an evaluation package that proves integrated infantry units performed worse. And to the everlasting shame of the other services, the Marine Corps was the only branch that requested an exemption from opening all MOS to women. Had the service heads all stood firm, maybe Congress might have stepped in.

As you point out, it wasn't the Marines who let down the American people, it was the American people who let down the Marines when they reelected Obama.

A resignation by Dunford in the last year of Obama's Presidency would accomplish nothing other than giving him the ability to appoint someone much worse to fill his spot. I know senior Marine leadership feels an obligation to stick by their Marines and not simply abandon them in retirement.

General Dunford can do a hell of a lot more good trying to rebuild this country's military if we elect a Republican President than he could sitting at home. It's out job to give him that President.

Semper Fi.

Why should he devote his life to serving and protecting them? if they are so unworthy of his sacrifice.

He is serving and trying to protect the Marines and others under his command as best as he can rather than abandoning them. In his position, he is best placed to ensure that the military sticks to the formula that standards won't be lowered, etc.

There is a very wide range of responses between resigning and implementing eagery every stupid leftist idea that comes down the pike. There was ways to resist without defying orders, and you can be sure General Dunford will be doing the maximum possible to preserve what is left of our military while serving under this knucklehead.

"Any senior officers not supporting Obama’s Maoist Revolution in the US military were purged under Dempsey, with a speed and efficiency Stalin would admire."

That's ok what do they know about running the hotel/brothel bidness in Moscow anyhow?

You didn’t answer my questions, but the key to the ones you raise in post 47 is in the word “leadership.”

I don’t believe a warrior’s oath mentions that his service and commitment depend on anyone’s votes. Nor is anyone asking the general to stage a coup to override the will of the people.

Is it “romantic” to expect him to serve and protect, not to serve and collect?

Perfume - is that what that stench is?

How is he supposed to serve and protect if he resigns and is replaced by someone worse? Obama is not up for reelection, and the resignation of Dunford at this point won't affect in the slightest what Obama does.

Your questions were nonsensical and did not merit a response.

General Dunford is not responsible for Barky or Ray Maybus. Just because government didn't turn out the way you want it, doesn't mean it's his responsibility to end his career. That is the end of the issue.

The Republicans watched for 7 years and did nothing. Obama played Simon Says, everyone watched like deer in the headlights. Now Trump must be stopped, because he is a threat to the House Obama built.

One of a recent line of JCS leaders who have lost their minds, compromised our nation’s security and thrown our troops under the bus for their own political aspirations....
Disgusting......

You are absolutely right in everything you say...
But isn’t it also true that climbing up the military ladder requires not just CYA but also kissing ass the best? You’ve seen it. I’ve seen it. Those who know how to play the game and know what sells are those that succeed to the lofty heights of general/flag officer...
And nothing pisses me off more than hearing not one but three past Sec Defs bitch about how crappy it was working for Obozo after the fact.
Their spinelessness put many at risk...
They should be put in front of a room full of Gold Star moms...
Damn their eyes....
