Another study says warming may be worse than experts think
Seattle Times ^ | April 7, 2016 | By SETH BORENSTEIN

Most computer simulations of climate change are underestimating by at least one degree how warm the world will get this century, a new study suggests.

According to the study published Thursday in the journal Science, computer model simulations say there is more ice and less liquid water in clouds than a decade of satellite observations show.

Because as the climate changes, there will be more clouds with far more liquid, and global warming will be higher than previously thought, said study co-author Trude Storelvmo, a Yale atmospheric scientist.

H2O: Dangerous Chemical!
A student at Eagle Rock Junior High won first prize at the Greater Idaho Falls Science Fair, April 26. He was attempting to show how conditioned we have become to alarmists practicing junk science and spreading fear of everything in our environment. In his project he urged people to sign a petition demanding strict control or total elimination of the chemical “dihydrogen monoxide.”

And for plenty of good reasons, since:

1.it can cause excessive sweating and vomiting
2.it is a major component in acid rain
3.it can cause severe burns in its gaseous state
4.accidental inhalation can kill you
5.it contributes to erosion
6.it decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes
7.it has been found in tumors of terminal cancer patients

He asked 50 people if they supported a ban of the chemical.
•Forty-three (43) said yes,
•six (6) were undecided,
•and only one (1) knew that the chemical was water.

The title of his prize winning project was, “How Gullible Are We?”

He feels the conclusion is obvious.

So let me get this straight.
There will be more clouds (which block sunlight) and as a result we'll be warmer. Got it.

This trash is paid for, no doubt, by a government grant.

I created a climate model using Tinkertoys and Lincoln Logs, and it said that global temperatures will DROP up to 150 degrees Kelvin sometime before this coming November! Then it spit out a recipe for gazpacho and advised me on what lipstick to wear for Spring.

I’m curious - what makes someone an “expert” in this field?

Aren't these the same computer simulations that have been repeatedly shown based on ACTUAL DATA to significantly OVERESTIMATE and OVERPREDICT temperature increases?

My own computer model is predicting global temperatures to rise 35 degrees in the next 20 years.

Pretty sure I’m right.

Pretty sure.

I welcome global warming, melt the ice over Antarctica and Greenland; mining, farming, recreation opportunities.

In grad school (Computer Science) we did some math modelling. The only way you should ever believe in one of these “predictions” is when they plug in the numbers for, say, 1950 and then produce a good approximation of the climate we actually have today. Then there would be a viable verification that the model is believable for predicting the future.

And still be careful.

As I drive for a living in Calgary, I am more than pleased that this has been one of the warmest winters on record! Instead of worrying about stupid drivers who don’t know how to drive in winter conditions, about all I had to worry about this winter was just stupid drivers who don’t know how to drive. A subtle difference!

It is also going up to 75°F tomorrow!
