One of most dangerous areas in America has resorted to paying teenagers up to $1,300 a month as officials desperately try and stop gun crime.

Gang members in Richmond, California, can also go on all expenses paid trips to New York and Washington if they are willing to travel with a rival.

The programme, which is predominantly funded by taxpayers, was introduced in the city earlier this year.

I’m so glad I got out of Virginia, I could see the trending towards Democrat control.

I remember reading that Richmond is on the verge of bankruptcy as it is with its government salaries and pension / health & welfare benefits. Now this spending lunacy. Any taxpayer who hasn't left yet must have Stockholm Syndrome.

In the long run—tribute never works-—its like hiring mercenaries. You run out of money and must return to harsh ways of handling things. Remember —the price always gos up.

So they use a picture of a white guy with a gun in the article. Then a picture of the Richmond marina.

I’m really glad we have access to the British press who often report on things suppressed by the US media. But sometimes their unfamiliarity with US culture shows and in this case, they serve up a very weak version of the problem.

Paying them NOT to shoot each other is counterproductive...

This Just In: Gang members in Richmond demand a raise in their extortion salary. Double it, effective retroactively, with interest compounded!! OR ELSE!

The Iton Triangle is one of the most dangerous places ever

The liberal white city council wants to feel better so they spend other people’s money and go home to their homes on the other side of the highway all safe and sound

Heck I would pay them 1300 dollars to shoot each other. So long as they do not shoot us.

LOL, it could have been either state as they both are now solidly in control of Democrats with gangs.

Reminder to self, read article before commenting.

Richmond is one of a couple of $hit hole cities in Contra Costa County. As a county resident, I have to “help” pay for this nonsense. I was called for jury duty in Richmond last year. They had to “cancel the trial” of a criminal defendant on whose jury I was to sit, because, according to the presiding judge who released us,
“the defendant who had been brought to the courthouse for trial from the jail, had WALKED out of the building!” and yeah, Richmond is “80% Amish!”

Nearby San Francisco offered homeless a monthly wage and witnessed a massive increase in its homeless population. Richmond politicians clearly thought that was a terrific idea, and may very well witness an increase in killers walking the streets on the taxpayer’s dime.

One question arises: If someone who accepts the bribe then kills someone, must he return the money?

Maybe if I threaten to start randomly killing people too will I'll get gov't cheese? How does that work? A form?

How many people have you murdered in the last 12 months?
A: 9

What will it take to get you to stop doing that?
A: Oh, say $1,200 per month no questions asked.

How do we know you will keep your promise?
A: You don't, chump!

OK then, here's your money...
