RE: Cruz hates New York values — but likes New York money
What is not asked in the above sentence is what KIND of New York Values?
Nor does it ask “What kind of money?”
The green kind.

Defend that statement all you want, but it was a stupid, stupid thing to say, probably said in order to pander to the south... which Cruz overwhelmingly lost.
Even worse to try to finesse it in order to try to beg NYers for votes.

abortion on demand?
job killing minimum wages?
nanny state banning large sodas?
no gun zones?
what’s not to hate there?
Doesn't matter. Cruz insulting NY values is the equivalent of another candidate criticizing Utah for it's Mormon values.
It's the fact that Ted is judging people in NY for any reason that really reeks but not for voting reasons. It says a lot about Cruz that he feels comfortable denigrating an entire state for values he doesn't agree with.
It very much reminds me of another junior senator, Barrack Obama on Pennsylvania:
