World Cup winner and two-time Olympic champion Abby Wambach has admitted taking cocaine and smoking marijuana.
American Wambach, the world's all-time leading international goalscorer, was arrested on Saturday for drink-driving.
Court documents connected to the 35-year-old's arrest said that "the defendant tried cocaine at age 25".

This, of course, makes her more forthcoming than the current president of the United States.
Now the post-rerirement endorsement deals disappear. Mini has severed ties. Wambach is a lesbian; already fewer deals than for normal athletes. Threw it all away.
“Now the post-rerirement endorsement deals disappear.”
Actually, she’s applying a tried and true liberal maneuver. By confessing preemptively, she clearing the deck for a future as a soccer commentator, commercials, etc. Because she has now confessed, if anyone should bring up past drug use she can respond that it’s “old news” and just keep on trucking. Been working for the likes of Hiill and Bill for decades.

Why do people talk to the police?
If you are in hot water, shut your mouth. Be polite, but firm. The is nothing to be gained by sitting down and having a chat.
The youth movement has taken over. This is getting to be really fun. After years of a rather set lineup, the young players are getting a chance, and they're all good. If Jill Ellis and U.S. Soccer can manage this appropriately, this may be a sea-change for the USWNT. Players in their mid-20's are becoming the old ladies on the team. We went into the last World Cup as the oldest team in the tournament. I'm getting the feeling that may never happen again. There's just too much talent in the pipeline.
Seven goals from six different players: it's going to be tough doing the cuts for the Olympics.
BFD. Half this country if not more is on drugs all the time, albeit mostly stuff with a brand name from a publicly-traded company.
If she did no harm to anyone else in the process, it’s nobody else’s business.
Zach Morris has really let himself go, since Saved By the Bell.
