Yep. Self defense. As soon as a musloon shouts “Alluha Akbar” at you, you can be sure his next move will be to stab you, shoot you or blow you up.
The only thing I agree with Soetoro is if they bring a knife, I bring a gun.

A crazed man carrying a locking folder knife chasing people down the street shouting violent oaths is considered a ‘hate crime’ in New York City. Golly, the police are summoned and the ten time felon is taken into custody where he’ll once again be released. Some pesky liberal bureaucrat with a sociology degree who would be unemployable anywhere else will see to that, just like they did ten times previously.
Meanwhile, clear across the country in the big empty rectangular-shaped states the same exact incident could/would initiate justifiable homicide in self-defense against the crazed knifeman. Could very well end in a ‘dead right there’ situation. All he has to do is get within 20 feet and refuse to halt. In my state, the defender couldn’t even be sued in civil court and the local DA has legal instruction in the statutes to presume innocence of the defender in such a situation. And believe me, most DAs here would be “How did you let him get into 19 feet of you? Were you under-calibered or what?”.
Americans in both localities cannot make much sense of the other’s legal response. They don’t and won’t understand each other, purely based upon legal authority.
That suggests to me, at a minimum, that not only is our nation ideologically separating but we’re not even running in parallel. We’re clearly diverging. What bonds us anymore?

That’s wrong. There are many who see the sense in self defense and harsh laws. Just not more than 51 percent.
A bunch of flyover states, including Ohio, went for obummer, so they’re not all that conservative to begin with.
Individuals in Brooklyn and The Bronx may already be of the mindset that the crazed knifeman shouldn’t even be breathing. I won’t quarrel with you there. They may even be in the majority.
But put in a voting booth and allowed to select their representatives and civil servants who will make laws and enforce statutes, they’ll won’t walk their talk. They believe the concept of safety in numbers — there’s so many fellow Brooklynites that something like a crazed knifeman attacking people is something that’ll happen to any one of millions of others and not them specifically. It’s just a story they’ll read in the NY Post as they travel to work on a city bus up Coney Island Ave.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again.
