Not yet.

We need John Kossack to bleed off Rino voters who may have been leaning toward Trumpman.

In N.Y.

There is a way for Cruz to win.....

It's a work in progress.....

Jedi.

Kasich is safer for them than trying to jam Ryan in. But they will head-fake to make us think “it’s Ryan, them bastiges are going to nuke the convention!” and then they’re secretly have someone nominate Kasich on the 3rd round and he will magically get a majority of the vote and that will be it.

But Priebus was saying 'the party selects the nominee' just a few days ago.

Apparently, he got a lot of kickback on that previous statement.

Priebus seems to be on one side of things one day and the opposite side on another day.

Priebus: 'The party is choosing a nominee'

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus cautioned supporters of Donald Trump who vocally disapprove of the GOP's delegate allocation and selection process. "By the way, this is a nomination for the Republican Party," Priebus told 620 WTMJ in Wisconsin. "If you don't like the party, then sit down. The party is choosing a nominee."

Not Yeb! Not Ryan. Either Cruz or Trump or the GOP is done.

That's a fact. The Trump and Cruz campaigns will have enough combined delegates to write the rules and both want 40(B) to stay.
Right now the Trump campaign is falsely claiming that if Trump does not get the 1237 he should be “given” the nomination anyway or some RINO will parachute in and take it.
Trump sycophant Sean Hannity tried to sell this nonsense to Newt Gingrich and it was all the former speaker could do not to laugh in his face.
Thanks to Wisconsin, Trump and Cruz will go head to head in a run off in Cleveland with Cruz winning the nomination by the fourth vote.

The nation, much less the GOP. Pray for a convention and then, electoral miracle. Perhaps The Almighty will mercifully deign to favor this country one more time.

all four of the RNC rules committee delegates are in favor of scrapping rule 40:

If post-2012 R-40 is scrapped, the only logical change would be to revert to the pre-2012 R-40, which was 5 states. Same outcome - the nominee should and must be Trump or Cruz. Whichever wins, I will vote for. Kasich, not so much.

One would expect the RNC leadership to ask for what’s obviously needed to beat Hillary: Trump and Cruz unity.

It’s not perfect, but it’s necessary to win.

They both have strengths that need to be brought together. Let the voters decide who is #1, but meanwhile agree to:
- give the loser the VP
- give the winner your delegates
- state that the differences were media-induced
- meet and get agreement on key issues

(If you say, “Trump will never consent to being VP”, what does that tell you?)

...Before the party self-destructs and gives it to Hillary.

100% agree.

Trump & Cruz should get their delegates to support Rule #40

I can’t really fault Priebus for taking this position. He is head of the GOP. Kasich is (foolishly) still in the race. There is no way that he can tell Kasich he is wasting his time. You and I can. But it would not be appropriate for Priebus to do so.

I doubt Priebus has changed his stance from this:

I think it would be highly unlikely if it's not. You know, that -- I can tell you that. I think it would somewhat very unusual. But you know, I can't 100 percent guarantee that. But I can't imagine right now sitting here believing it would be anyone but the three remaining candidates.

Trump’s supporters are pushing this story hard, Hannity, Bolling, Rush, GP. It is as if they are working with Roger stone with his plan for the convention to turn Trump delegates against the others.
Here is a fact that I made up but is most logical:

On the second vote the majority of Rubio and Kasich’s delegates switch to Cruz. The end.

If Trump had not trashed so many on the right, studied some policy issues and contained his tweeter habits against those not kissing his ring he would have had a chance.

I don’t get it. In the past he said that the rule 40, and all rules were only for the 2012 convention, and didn’t carry forward to this years convention.

He is referring to rule 42.

RULE NO. 42
Temporary Rules

Upon the adoption of the report of the Convention Committee on Rules and Order of Business, Rule Nos. 26-42 shall constitute the Standing Rules for this convention and the temporary rules for the next convention.

Rule 42 implies that they might change rule 40 in the future, but as of now it is a rule for the next convention (temporary or otherwise) and NOT something that was just in place for the last convention.

-- It should only be one of two candidates still running. Kasich shouldn't count. --

Kasich has not suspended his campaign, why should he not count?

What he should have said was the 2012 rules didn't necessarily carry forward. Each convention writes it's own rules and it will be up to the delegates if they want to change the 8 state rule.

It is true that that rule was put in place by Mitt's people just for 2012, but Trump & Cruz's people could choose to retain it for 2016 just to screw Kasich.

Whom ever receives the most delegates should get the nomination. If someone else gets the nom I’ll be sitting out this election for the first time in my life. It won’t matter if Clinton wins at that point, the country is already gone . The only hope is to let it burn so something new can take its place or it’s a boot stomping on a human face forever

I will state this unequivocally, if Trump wins the nomination he has my vote, if Cruz wins the nomination he has my vote. Anyone else, well I guess we better get used to saying President Clinton again as my vote will go to "other".

I can ditto that, except that I'll just leave president boxes blank.
