You do understand the difference between winning on the first ballot and winning on subsequent ballots, do you not? So long as Trump goes in with less than 50% of delegates on the first ballot, Cruz is the likely nominee.

No, Trump thinks his free media is enough and then when he comes up with harebrained responses (like selling US assets- presumably to the Chinese- to eliminate a $19T debt in 8 years) he blames the media for defining himself.
