I was usually a US car buyer.

I've bought, let's see, about a half dozen Fords, some GMs, and one older Plymouth.

That ended w the election of Mr. Obama and the gifts to UAW, and control of US auto mfg.

I now own a very nice Honda (made in America).

My daughter liked it so much, she traded in her GMC to buy a Honda.

UAW? You did this to yourselves.

the only way to exterminate the United Auto workers plague is to kill the UAW

UAW is now going to be in death throes.

This is good in the long run

After the UAW is buried, production can return is asay 10 years

I wonder if the traitorous bastards at Ford consider moving to the South or Mid west. F them. No defending this.

All Trump buildings should be built in the US. We have steel workers going hungry. And not those Polish ones either! Only Americans! An NO chinese or Japanese steel in a Trump building. EVER!

If the UAW is looking for someone to blame they need only look in a mirror.

Every one sold in the USA should be hit with a 25% import fee. Let the Mexicans buy them.

And why should they be hit any worse than VW, Kia or Fiat or those Chevies with the Chinese engines? Ford Crown Victorias had been made in Mexico for a LONG time.

I'm okay with tariffs, well thought out, and replacing other taxes, but this will prevent companies from locating here in the first place.

Absolutely disgraceful, I tell ya, & bring back Hershey, my candy bars smell like Doritos

A contributing factor to moving candy and chocolate manufacturing out of the country is our already existing sugar tariffs. A pound of sugar brought in from outside the U.S. into a Hershey plant in Pennsylvania gets a tariff. The Mexican or Canadian candy bar with THE SAME SUGAR already in it does not.

MANY years ago, Apple used to assemble expensive laptops in this country. Then, a tariff was put on the LCD screens (we still had a small LCD screen industry then). Rather than pay the tariff, Apple moved production to Ireland, again using the same screens they had already been using.

Too work, tariffs have to be employed across the board, and not disproportionately against companies that were already headquartered or manufacturing here.

The Mexican Oreos taste HORRIBLE!

We went Toyota a few years ago and have 0 complaints.

I have my vintage jeeps, blazer, and hope to acquire another 67 or 68 Mercury Cougar along the lines of the one I bought from my uncle a long time back but had to sell.

What an idiotic argument.

Hey, are going to design a ship big enough to carry a skyscraper?

Good luck to you.

That triggered a memory--I had to sell my '67 Cougar XR-7 when my first son was born in 1977 to pay the doctor bill.

Sequential tail lights and vacuum operated headlight covers that closed with a thump, thump.

CB radio included.

Yep, one good reason to go Government Motors. It comes with
an automatic donation to the democrat party and
a mail-in ballot already checked to vote Hillary.

Shut down ALL Trump building sites in the US to inspect for foreign steel. We need to tax all of it if it isn’t made in America. We should get teams of PhD. metalugists to test all steel at ALL Trump building sites. But only AMERICAN metalugists, no foreign ones.

You are probably right. We should continue to over-fill our plants with $60.00 an hour employees. The ones who force you to keep robots out to help meet budgets to sell cars with a half decent margin.

Or again, move to a platform like the Japanese plants where money is made and good cars are mfg.

Or, be thick-headed, continue down this road and we all will drive foreign cars since the big three turns into the big zero

Btw, as someone mentioned, they are moving the cheaper car line to Mexico and moving luxury lines in its place. No job lost.

That I agree with moving forward.

Or maybe Ford could have moved to the South or Mid West USA. Plenty of R-T-W states in the USA.

Mine had to go for money crunch. Although other things could have been done, it made the S/O happy. She never cared for it.

When I acquire one, it will be a fixer-upper no doubt. Oh well.

Mine was a light blue base model with a 289.

Geez, you don't even know there are plenty of States in this country where autos are manufactured and the Unions don't have a thing to do with what the employees are paid?

What kind of moron thinks you can't build an auto plant in the US without using Unionized labor? Ford could move all production in this country to new plants and tell the UAW to get stuffed but that wouldn't get the same fat bonuses for the management that's looking at $2.00 an our as opposed to $10 or $12 within the US.

Bleat on, sheep, keep sucking down the propaganda until they take your job, too.

Mine was yellow with a black vinyl top, with the XR-7 segmented racing stripe along the sides.

289 as well.

Sold it for $500. Doctor’s bill: $500.

Good thing the kid turned out to be OK—all grown up and a daddy now as well.

Hope you find a good one at a decent price.

I have an Ebay search set and look at it periodically.

At the rate things are going, maybe next year at the earliest.

Every so often I check Craigslist and Co-Part. Anything remotely in my price range always seems to be on the other side of the country.
