Undue burden?? All that fighting by Apple to protect muslim terrorists and it took the FBI mere days to read that iPhone, and they arent even the experts at the iPhone like Apple is. Apple calls that extreme little effort undue burden? Apple spent thousands of times more effort to not help the FBI than it took the FBI to do the job. Didn't bother to read the article about what "undue burden" is defined as, did you? Thought not.

Then there isnt a device you should ever buy. There isnt a civilian available encryption that isnt completely and immediately decrypted by the fed. Not a one. You do not know what you are talking about.

So far the TexasGator, jessduntno, and Code Toad have showed up. . . I expect the rest of the usual gang of Empty Headed Hate-Apple above all reason suspects to show up soon.

“The whole point is to make something secure, not something which appears secure but is easily breached with some arcane knowledge. “
No, the whole point was to make it SEEM secure.

It’s Swordmaker, not me, that keeps posting about breaking encryption.

Yours is a strange definition of “secure” which makes discussion of security impossible.

“To compel them to is to destroy their whole purpose for existing.”
To compel them is to let the world know that their phone is NOT secure.
Apple should have quietly cracked the phone. Now the world knows that the expertise is out there to do it.
But then, 99.9% of iPhone users don’t even know what encryption is.
To: CodeToad
I'll believe that the phone was actually cracked when the Feds 1)actually produce evidence obtained from the phone and 2)drop all legal attempts to require manufacturer cooperation (since they now claim to have no need of such assistance).
I'm not holding my breath....

I wouldn’t, either. The fed have not acted with good faith in all this.

Thank you for acknowledging our presence ... without refuting my posts. Your posts have nothing to refute that hasn't been overwhelmingly refuted before. Stupid repetitious twaddle needs no refutation.

Better duck -- that stuff they're flinging ain't apples (though perhaps it was yesterday). It was whatever they were eating the last couple of days. . . it's all they have, since the truth is not in them. They have no facts, no logic, and not much rational thought. That means all they have left is what comes out of the other end.
