Maybe that’s Donald’s way of saying America won’t necessarily be going to war with Japan vs North Korea, right away, or full throttle. You are right, though, it was a capricious, dangerously vague remark to make. I still suspect Donald has tired of the campaign and wants to get off the (not so) Merry go round, but doesn’t know how to do it w/o looking like a quitter. He seems to manufacture a steady amount of stumbling blocks for himself. I hope I’m wrong.

I agree. It appears Trump is trying to throw the election. He originally ran as a protest and for publicity, and perhaps to help his friend Hillary, but the prospect of four years living under the microscope may be weighing on him.
He needs a way to bow out gracefully while still looking like a winner. That’s why he’s revamping the Republicans are mean to me story line.
He gets to tout: “Dark forces prevented me from winning the nomination” and then enjoys “permanent victim status” for the rest of his life.
