The biggest paradigm shift is social media. The press simply no longer has control over the narrative. Trump has over 15 million on his social media. With re-tweets probably over 30 million.

People are already very, very leery of media so they go to the web to find out what is happening.

By now most people know this is totally bogus.

Not as much, but a substantial part of what makes its way to social media, gets there due to press emphasis in the first place.

Not leery enough.

I would not count on that. The meme that has been and is being pushed is that Trump encourages violence, and Trump followers are unhinged. More people believe that now, than would have if the press had reported honestly.

The general public is dumb as a box of rocks.
