do they still require those sworn in as new citizen’s abandon their citizenship and allegiance to their former country?? Early in my life I attended a ceremony and I heard it - not the same words - I can’t recall them, but words even stronger.
Wasn’t Chavez opposed to Mexicans migrating to California for jobs, as he saw that as a threat to the already established Hispanic community? One just has to love yet another bit of (unintended) irony on the part of the left.

They were no doubt citizens of another country. They couldn’t make that government better? Guess not! Why ask foolish/silly/stupid questions?
Chavez was very much opposed to illegal immigrants as growers used them to undercut wages for citizens and legal immigrants.

That’s for sure.. People aren’t going to get excited until it hits close to home again on the level of another 9/11..but things have changed a lot since then so I sometimes wonder if THAT would even matter to people.. I’ve seen so much coverage of the protesters at political rallies recently that it reminds me of the sixties all over again. Gives me cold chills remembering and all of us who said at the time - “They’re going to be governing us some day.” This country can’t take another generation like that.
