People: Please let's not forget the goal here is #NeverHillary.

Please don't be #NeverTrump.

Trump isn't perfect. But he's the only possible change from the status quo.

Trump had better spend enough of his $$$ or do whatever legitimate things need doing to get all those delegates he needs, or else the GOP-e is going to kidnap the convention and nominate another loser. They WANT Hillary (they may very well get Bernie, but they think they might still get Hillary and that’s obviously the GOP-e’s vision of Paradise)

This is an utterly ridiculous thesis.

They are NOT going to change the majority + 1 rule.

Period.

If the GOP-e plays this game and takes Trump out, I’ll still vote for Trump.

Then I guess it will be time to get ready to live with a democrat president, Senate and Congress.

I apologize if this angers you, but I reject the premise that trump is the only change to the status quo.

Whatever you currently think of Cruz is likely seen through the lens of desiring trump and the current rhetoric.

I also reject the article’a premise that the GOP is willing to go full self destruct to avoid having Cruz or trump on the ballot in November.

They may be jackasses in disguise but shutting them both out could lead to a Trump/Cruz third-party run that would be unstoppable. These people may be turds but they aren’t stupid.

Every four years when a convention is convened, the delegates assembled approve a set of rules to govern that convention. Until the new rules are approved, the existing rules remain in effect. Existing rules require a majority vote to adopt any change. There is nothing unusual this year, including the jockeying for advantage by the various factions. The thing to remember is that any rule adopted will apply to every candidate equally.

If a rule was approved to require 2000 votes for nomination, that rule would not only apply to Mr. Trump but to any other candidate including this mystery establishment person so many people fear is looming out there. If, as some desire, the rule was changed to nominate someone with less than a majority, that rule would apply equally also. It would be foolhardy to do so as that could easily result in a tie while a tie is not possible with a majority vote rule.

We have to be patient and let this thing play out. When the actual vote is taken, all 2475 delegates certified to the convention will have an equal vote. The number of delegates for each of the three remaining candidate being talked about now is only an estimate and does not include those previously allocated to candidates who dropped out. We will not know who those unbound delegates support until the formal ballot is taken. In the end, the person who gets the nomination must get more delegates to vote for them than anyone else, whatever that number may be.

When I was young we laughed at Russian ‘elections’.. where the Russian people were forced to do ‘show’ voting while Communist Party Leaders would pick whoever the hell they wanted.

Almost every hellhole in the world is run by elites - elites who rig the votes in their favor but attempt to make it look like they're the ‘choice of the people’...(remember Saddam with his 98% 'votes' from 'the people'...?)

‘Justifications’ are the same ... elite thugs ‘give’ to the criminal class that props them up... thereby giving themselves the excuse they're ‘doing good’ while in fact they're only feathering their own nests... and that of their fellow elites.

Sound familiar?

The great experiment we're a part of - the American Experiment - has to do with trusting the people... trusting the people to pick their own leaders. The goons at the RNC and DNC are taking that power for themselves... stealing it from the people. Democrats and Republican totalitarians have decided 'the people' can't be trusted. Just like elite goons in every other hellhole since the dawn of time - they've made the decision in favor of themselves...

Our RNC and DNC are working to reduced our country to hellhole status. If they steal this election from Trump or even from Sanders, they'll be emboldened to do the same from here on out...

Stop the thugs - vote Trump.

so they can also change the rule to 1200, or 1100. To avoid a contested convention, if they actually wanted party unity and cared about their voters.

Any shenanigans will cause me to do a write in or stay home.

That is up to the RNC.

I will not vote for an installed candidate.

We already had the worst, Obama. I refuse to play GOP games.

This is shit. The rules gong in to this primary were 1237 and 8 states and they made this abundantly clear. Now they want to move the goal post.
