Something tells me that the RNC told Trump that it was up to him to bring the party together so he better stop saying stupid stuff.

RNC didn’t tell Trump anything; they listened. If they take the nomination away from him he goes back to his fabulous, rich-beyond-our-wildest-dreams life, and they deal with the smoking ruins of their party. No party-no power, and they want power more than anything.
