Why so? It’s merely what Milton Friedman, Thomas Sowell etc. would say, and free market principles.
Milton Friedman would indeed say that. And I’d agree with him, all things being equal or near what the facts were while such a great man was still alive.
But would he still say it if he knew we had open borders with a welfare state, endless war, $20 trillion national debt and 100 million Americans not working? We both know he’d say better wake the eff uo.
I’ve had this argument on FR for nearly 20 years. When it started none of us knew how it would end up. Now we know. Ricardo free trade theory, as applied to the United States in tandem WITH ALL OF ITS OTHER EXTANT POLICIES is suicide.
