I can accept these reporters being journalists and covering the campaigns of all the candidates.

I can accept these reporters being biased and covering the candidates through their biases, as long as I know their biases up front.

But what these women did with this letter is stopped being reporters and jumped right in to being the news, attempting to affect the outcome. Reporters are observers, these people no longer are.
