No, that's how the system works. The police department doesn't have to check with the DA to bring probable cause charges against an alleged perp.
I thought I read here, this morning, that the DA bringing charges was "revealed as a Hillary supporter".
Sounds like that may have been a little premature (read: untrue).
Sounds to me like they are backing down. Is it true she was fired for Fox?
In Illinois we cannot even extradite a defendant on a misdemeanor charge.
Considering the heavy interest in this case, it would be extreme negligence on the part of the police not to have sought the opinion of the prosecutor before the arrest.
The whole thing reminds me of the Texas indictment of Rick Perry.

I know that. The case is beyond BS. On important cases, there is coordination between the PD and DA.
