They are using Cruz now to try to keep Trump from getting the majority of delegates before the convention.
Once that happens, they are dropping Cruz as fast as they can. (If they can).
That might be true. I can break this into 2 parts. Part 1: He knows the establishment is going to sabotage him once he's served his purpose. If this were true, why would he "play around" with them unless he was expecting something in return? A VP slot? If that were the case, he would be the undercard to Romney or Ryan. That would equal sellout. Part 2: He thinks the establishment backs him. This would mean that he is on-board with them (nothing is for free and they will want to be paid back) or naive. Neither of which is good.
