US Military Families Ordered to Evacuate Turkey

U.S. military families have been ordered to evacuate bases in Turkey to keep to them safe from possible attacks, officials announced Tuesday.

Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook said the order to leave Turkey would affect about 670 of the total of 770 dependents in the country.

The 670 dependents are at the main Incirlik airbase and two other smaller bases at Izmir and Mugla, Cook said. The approximately 100 dependents who are being allowed to stay were with spouses assigned to Ankara, the Turkish capital, and Istanbul, which were considered safer postings, Cook said.

Cook did not give a timeline for when the dependents would leave but said "my understanding is that this will move very quickly."

The departures were not a response to the Brussels terror attacks last week in which an Air Force officer and four members of his family were wounded in the explosion at the Zaventem international airport, Cook said. "I don't believe this was specifically triggered by the Brussels attacks," Cook said.

"It's not because of any one action or specific threat," Cook said, but was instead a step taken "out of an abundance of caution."

Something is wrong here and not being picked up by the media. Turkey? Part of Nato and sadly the EU.

ISIS is overrunning parts of Turkey. Ankara and Istanbul are still OK, but there’s no telling how far ISIS will penetrate.

Thanks for the info.

I'm shaking my head. Europe is lost. They will regret ever bringing Turkey in.

The parallels with the 30's is alarming.

But yes, there is something terribly wrong and it starts at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. DC. Need I say more? I hope that we won't suffer another 9/11 but the odds are greater than ever.

I agree. I think the next 9/11 is going to be much worse.

I think we’re looking, not at a 9/11, but a 54/66

You’re close, re: “I am so tired of the purposeful incompetence from our government.”

It’s actually planned creative disruption / destruction.
- Out of world chaos, -> comes a New World Order.
Kill higher culture + Kill the economy / currencies = dependent people willing to accept: new merged gov’t, new societal “norms”, identity surveiling, as well as a new cashless financial system.

You, I, our children, culture and future suffering, means absolutely nothing to sell out politicians and related elite cold blooded reptiles.

Hard to believe anyone could be so power hungry twisted to inflict so much painful disruption on billions.

I lived there as a kid. Dad was military. We lived right in the community not on a base. No way would that be possible today. Erdogan has been moving Turkey back to radical Islam and away from Western ways and values. This move signals Turkey will soon be lost and may withdraw from NATO. I think Erdogan wants that anyway. WWIII just got a lot closer. Turkey is/was a buffer between the West and the Middle East. Soon that dividing line will be on the Europe side of Turkey making radical Middle East/Islam that much bigger. I’m positive there are a lot of Turks who are not happy about this. Sad. Turkey is really an amazing country under terrible leadership but he keeps getting re-elected. We had that same problem here in 2012.

Meanwhile Obama and ISIS supporter and sympathizer Erdogan will be busy dedicating the largest mosque in America.
