In her farewell letter as she was leaving to join the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Jaelyn Young told her family she was guilty.
"I found the contacts, made arrangements, planned the departure," prosecutors say she wrote last August. "I am guilty of what you soon will find out."
Tuesday, she admitted the same to a federal judge in Aberdeen, Mississippi, pleading guilty to one count of conspiring to provide material support to a terrorist organization.
U.S. District Judge Sharion Aycock will sentence the 20-year-old Young at a later date. The former Mississippi State University student faces up to 20 years in prison, $250,000 in fines and lifetime probation.
Her fiance, Muhammad Dakhlalla, pleaded guilty March 11 to a similar charge and also awaits sentencing.

She charged her plane tickets to her parents; credit card without their permission.
“The couple was arrested Aug. 8 before boarding a flight from Columbus, Mississippi, with tickets for Istanbul purchased using her mother’s credit card without her mother’s permission. Authorities say the couple contacted undercover federal agents in May, seeking online help in traveling to Syria. Both are jailed in Oxford.”
Oh, don’t worry. They join ISIS, they will be.

I really feel bad about this poor girl. She was beautiful, smart, charming...and then fell in love with an Islamic nutcase. Virtually all of the black or white American girls who have gone off to be soldiers of ISIS have done so because of some Muslim boyfriend or husband.
I think it’s probably hard if you’re a black or poor white girl, because the men you know are going to be mostly trash. So you find some Muslim immigrant who probably just dates you because he wants to use you...and then you end up in jail for the rest of your life. Or dead.
In this case, the Muslim was actually not an immigrant, but the radicalized son of a Muslim immigrant who sounds like a very nice, assimilated guy. But Islam is a cult as much as Jonestown was a cult, and cults exercise an incredibly powerful influence over people who should know better.
Aside from that, women will do anything for a man they love. The only question is why women love men like that, but of course, that’s one of life’s great unanswered questions.
MSU campus has apparently changed a lot since the 1970’s. Sad to see this happening in the great state of MS.
You better raise those children up knowing Jesus, or they can turn out joining ISIS. Prayers for her soul, his too.

I remember the Jaelyn Young story. It was tragic and chilling. She seemed destined to become a part of ISIS, one way or another. Jaelyn was the main driving force for her fiance to become involved. He could provide cover as a fiance, and comraderie as another seeker of jihad. Her parents, a policeman and a school administrator must have been devastated. There will be no going back to Momma’s house and forgetting all the bad stuff. This gal will be locked up for a long time.

Well, aren’t you perfect. The girl had everything going for her - cheerleader, honor student, volunteer - and then she fell in with this guy who also had nothing to complain about. Immigrant family doing well, nice father, good school and grades...and then Islam intervenes.
I lived in California in the 70s and 80s and I knew many people who went off and joined cults and completely destroyed their lives. I actually lived in the same building with somebody who went off to Jonestown (it was a mostly black cult directed by a white minister).
Islam is a cult, and should be attacked on those grounds. I am really sad when I see her photo because she looks like somebody you would have been happy to know, happy to have your son marry...and then she threw it all away. But she was young and that’s what young women do.

Give her a fair trial.

Some politicians want to bring more of this “religion” into our country...
Some politicians say we should pause...until we understand what we might be doing to ourselves and our nation.
If they can’t get to Syria to practice their Jihad religion...they will do it here in the land of the Free and the home of the Brave.
They have ONLY one hope, Jesus The Christ. I will pray that they find Him.
