The cross that seemed to go up late Friday or early Saturday morning at Del Monte Beach has city of Monterey officials scratching their heads as to who put it there and what to do about it.

The cross, which is made out of metal and rests on a concrete base, is on city property located next to the bike path just south of Monterey Tides Hotel. It’s the spot where a redwood cross that was taken down by vandals in 2009, was located.

It doesn't matter. When Sharia law is implemented in America all such things will be banned.

They knocked the HEAD off of the monk statue overlooking the harbour, at the bottom part of the grounds DLI museum.

They also splashed paint all over the Carmel Mission.

I hope they put up a Yuuuuuuuge titanium cross, with barbed wire all around the base.

First I heard of this was on the radio earlier today.

And those responsible will have a choice of how they will die: beheaded, boiled in oil, drowned in a cage, or any other heinous method of execution they can come up with.

Lucky for me I’ll already be dead, it’s the only way they could take over. My guess i wouldn’t be alone in that fight.

I think the pressure cooker is building up pressure. The libtards and Demo-rats have it in for this country and are bound and determine to totally destroy it. With all these musslimes coming in, setting up their own enclaves as a no enter zone, the whole country will be splintered into different factions. Won't be the United States anymore, just a bunch of random states all inclusive unto themselves like separate countries.

A cross can not be erected on a public beach but the Hunky Jesus debacle can be held at a public park on Easter Sunday

They can’t kill God, no matter how hard they try. The cross of Jesus Christ will endure to all generations.

The city displaying a cross on city property would indicate a preference by the city.

What they are doing in this case is interfering with someone's right to free speech on city property.

I’ve stayed at that hotel many times and saw the old redwood cross which marked the first place which Fr. Serra said Holy Mass in Monterey. It was vandalized a few years ago, cut down but the base with the plaque remained. This was an historical marker but since we are now a pagan country our real history will disappear.

"Someone" doesn't have a right to permanently install a concrete structure on city property.

If city officials allow a Cross, they would also have to tolerate the erection of other and different religious symbols on city propery.

I'm all for eradicating the Muslim terrorist threat, but...

I proposed to my wife on that beach under the original cross. They should leave the new one up.

Not anymore, according to the Usurper.

Well then California better remove all of the “Sans” away from all their city names, like San Francisco, San Diego, etc.
