People will stop leaving tips. $15.00 an hour is more than enough to bring your food to the table so you will no longer feel obligated to leave a tip.

For me, if they implement this law here, tips will become a thing of the past. We ate at a waterfront restaurant in SF recently, and the bill included a separate charge for employee heath benefits, plus an 18% “automatic gratuity” because there were more than six people at the table. The basic bill for the food (for about 15 people) was $343.00, when you add sales tax, HC surcharge, and the “gratuity,” the final total was $457.96. Needless to say, we’re not going to be eating in ANY SF restaurants in the future. And before you Texans start your clucking, this is headed your direction, it’s just a matter of time.

I think that is what I will do...No more tipping at the restaurants once the minimum wage is $15.00/hour...

Many big name stores like Target and Walmart will survive the minimum wage increase...However, many small businesses will not survive...

Talk show host Larry Elder has been talking about the minimum wage...His point was that if you make something more expensive there will be less demand for it...If the state makes hiring a worker more expensive, then there will be fewer jobs...

Even if Jerry Brown did not come up with this deal, the minimum wage proposal would still pass in November...There are many voters who are clueless about economics...

There will be huge price increases once the $15/hour proposal becomes reality...The businesses have to charge more to pay their workers...
