Remember when your mom used to read you the classic about the wolf and the shotgun-toting grandma? No? Well, the National Rifle Association teamed up with a conservative author to make that fairy tale happen.

New gun-friendly twists on old favorites are published on the NRA's family-oriented sister site NRA Family. The group said the new stories are part of an attempt to make sure children learn how to use firearms responsibly.

An editor's note on the site adds, "Have you ever wondered what those same fairy tales might sound like if the hapless Red Riding Hoods, Hansels and Gretels had been taught about gun safety and how to use firearms?"

Video at link. On a related note, isn't it interesting that the staunchest supporters of gun control tend to have serious ethical and/or legal issues of their own? Such as Hillary Clinton, Charles Rangel, FMR NYS Assy speakier Sheldon Silver who's about to do some time, and many others. This is nothing new. One of first acts of gun control, the infamous Sullivan Laws in 1911. What the gun grabbers don't tell you is WHO those laws were named for. "Big Tim" Sullivan, a Tammany Hall operative even more corrupt than Hillary Clinton. He wanted to make the streets of NYC safer. Safer for him and his cronies, not to mention the robbers and gangsters in his back pocket. Around 1990 the "gun violence death clock" was put up near Times Sq. by the deHere Gunfighters, a bunch of Brady campaign wannabes. It was funded by Robert Brennan, a junk bond dealing scam artist who makes Bernie Madoff look like Mother Theresa, after he got out of Club Fed for securities fraud and other such niceties. I'm sure he had a pragmatic reason for wanting to "make a difference". Hey, if I scammed all those old folks out of their life savings I too would be scared sh!tless if they, their kids or grandkids had easy access to firearms. Just sayin'..

James Thurber’s version of Red Riding Hood was great.

She

She pulls a 45 out of her basket and drills the wolf.

Little girls are not so easily fooled these days.
