WHOA! RNC Changes Rule To Stop Trump From 1,237 Delegates…All Are Eligible
Proud Conservative ^ | 3/25/2016

Republicans have assumed this entire elections season that a candidate must have won at least 8 state primaries or caucuses to be eligible for the GOP nomination, but apparently that is not the case and apparently a rule change hasn’t technically occurred, but that’s not the way it seems.

Even Ted Cruz said just last night that John Kasich wasn’t eligible because he hadn’t won enough states, so even he was mislead.

Insiders now say rule 40(b) only applied to the republican convention in 2012 and was never intended to be used in future elections.

From Washington Examiner:

Party officials and knowledgeable sources have confirmed over the past few days that Rule 40(b) doesn’t exist for the purposes of the upcoming convention. That means at this point, the three candidates left in the race, front-runner Donald Trump, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, are all eligible for the nomination, as, possibly, are the Republican contenders who have since suspended their campaigns.

Ben Ginsberg, a Republican elections lawyer who was involved in rule-making process for the 2012 convention, said that Rule 40(b) isn’t transferrable to the 2016 convention. Ginsberg explained to the Washington Examiner that what was passed in 2012 applied only to 2012, and that the 2016 convention must pass its own rule determining nomination eligibilty.

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus confirmed Ginsberg’s assessment on Sunday during a television interview. “There will always be a perception problem if people continue to miss — to not explain the process properly. So, the 2012 rules committee writes the rules for the 2012 convention. The 2016 rules committee writes the rules for the 2016 convention,” he told CNN.

"You can be certain of one thing. If it were Trump that was trailing like Cruz and Kasich, the GOP would be insisting that rule 40(b) was in fact intended to apply to elections beyond 2012, but since Trump is winning by a huge margin, the convention is pulling out all the stops and doing everything they can to keep the establishment pick alive."

Here we go! Like the false attacks on Trump - I hope it backfires.

How can you run a campaign when they make up the rules after it’s all over?

Trump and Cruz will control the vast majority of delegates and, as such, any rule changes will have to be agreed on by the Trump and Cruz delegates prior to going into the convention or so Reince Priebus says in a recent interview with Sean Hannity.

You'd know if Jeb! was winning the delegate count but looked like he couldn't secure the 1,237, the RNC would hand the nomination to him on a silver platter gift-wrapped in gold foil.

If Trump is cheated out of the nomination, here's what he should do:

- Thank his supporters and staff for their time.
- Withdraw from the race.
- Announce that he will not give any more interviews related to the race.
- Decline to endorse, fund or campaign with any other Republican candidate

Let the RNC choke on their RINO and lose Trump supporters.

They have been doing it for years. They need to be taken down. America will be the winner.

Personally, I don’t worry about a lot about a change in the rules, as the LEGAL RAMIFICATIONS are tremendous for those that are part of it...in other words, I think one can reasonably assume that Trump will SUE THE DAYLIGHTS out of anyone involved in a rules change that denies him the nomination.

Of course they’re welcome to try, but Trump is worth $10 BILLION and so those swindlers better have some REALLY DEEP POCKETS as they’ll have to go against his legal team.

(at least that’s my take)

I think the RNC/GOPe should be allowed to pull the rug out from under The Donald.

High time we cut to the chase and bring this all to a head. Tired of the games already.

Who will prevail - the oligarchs, or We the People? Let’s find out.

I won't vote if Trump is not the nominee.
(and)

Hillary will be the next US president.
(as a consequence)

We're done as a nation.

Two of my friends said the same today.

So, what are the rules for the 2016 convention?

In future candidates should make sure of the rules before they get in the race and commit their time and money.

Republican establishment are scum. But we already knew this from how they treated Sarah Palin and how they have treated the tea party movement.

Why would anyone want to run under the R banner?

This party is finished.

How can you run a campaign when they make up the rules after it’s all over?

Before a convention convenes, the Rules Committee meets and writes the rules for THAT convention.

In 2012, the Rules Committee met and wrote Rule 40 (b) for the 2012 convention. There was never any intention of it applying to future conventions.

The Rules Committee has yet to meet for the 2016 convention. And they will write the rules that apply to the 2016 convention.

It has been this way since the beginning of time...

There is simply no way two parties can represent everyone adequately. The two party system is what has to go. Maybe.

Convention Rules are “whatever”.

It’s kind of like the Constitution in that respect.
