Free trade means uncontrolled, unrestricted access to our economy for goods often made at less than $4 per hour, tariff- and duty-free. This has devastated our economy and put some of our best companies out of business. Free trade has been incredibly costly for the United States. We have seen a steadily rising trade deficit as a result of these failed policies. The United States has not had a trade surplus in 37 years!

This should be an interesting thread.
That sucking sound bump.
lonely-thread bump - along with the other one
You’re on fire today. Good work!
Free Traitors post day after day the same old tired BS. I am sick of it.
You and me both! I'm sick of being called a fake conservative because I don't like seeing millions of American jobs just disappear.
Anyone older that 50 should know better than to be on board with de industrialization. Those younger than that never lived in “normal America”.
The other night, while driving into “the big city”, I drove through the rusting remains of what once was a fully-operational steel mill. 30+ years ago.
An area that was once prosperous, now a testament to old houses, old buildings, some crime and ghosts of the past.
Multiply this across all industries and you have the makings of a 3rd-world country. Liberals and socialists hardest hit.
Meanwhile, idiots scream for more Obamanomics through Hillary and lies by Bernie Sanders. Meanwhile, we have been sold out on the other side, too. This is the Uniparty - maintaining their gov’t jobs, expense accounts and raking in cash from their Cheap Labor Express, Open Borders, NAU, NAFTA buddies.
It’s a huge machine.
But i am sure all those "displaced" people that used to work there are now small business owners, doctors and software engineers on easy street. /sarc
Make no mistake. That is what Obamacare is designed to do.
Eventually take out the older population who knew what America once was. By driving them into bankrupcty, or lowering the availability of decent care while facilities and doctors flee the looming disaster.
Once the older population is gone, the mush-skulls of NEA-propagandized can be more easily-controlled with sports, popular “music”, KarTrashian stories and who’s on “Dancing with the Has-Beens”.
And while Palin was derided for “death panels” when they decide it’s too expensive to try and save you, adios.
One guy I knew online decided she lied. No doubt he went and searched for “death panels”. Not finding it, he decided it was untrue. Shaking my head at the limited thinking of some of my fellow countrymen.
Who could forget that liar Arlen Specter? Gotta pass this very quickly, he said.
The United States has not had a trade surplus in 37 years!
And we haven’t had “Real Money” in 50 years, since the coinage act of 1965 and then the Official Declaration of Bankruptcy in 1971.
They go hand in hand.
Who could forget that liar Arlen Specter?
Aww come on, the Inventor of “The Magic Bullet Theory” regarding JFK was a liar? /s
There were families who worked hard to keep the factory going, keep a family under control, fed, educated.
Now, mostly all ghosts. Oh, a couple of businesses moved in, to part of it, after it had been closed for more than 20 years.
But you can still see the empty railyards, the rusting buildings with the broken glass, the scraps of tools, implements, loading systems. It’s as if a neutron bomb went off, did some physical damage, but removed all the people.
When they started shutting down some factories in the 1970’s, I had a sick feeling. I didn’t know the term “de-industrialization” but now I’m all too familiar with it.
The same thing has come to white collar jobs in offices. It just hasn’t caught up with some yet. I see people on HGTV (which has quite the liberal agenda) who are buying big houses because they’re on gov’t paychecks. A gov’t that has to print fake money because it can’t pay the $131 Trillion in debt and unfunded liabilities it currently has.
Oh, yeah, they DO pay some. With more of the money they “print”.
There’s an end-game to this. When the music stops, a lot of people are going to find a lot of chairs missing. I’ve already seen the ugly side of it. It’s a shocker.
Shoot, last night, somebody told me to trust the Warren Report (for all intents and purposes).
I’m sure I’ll find similar reports on Benghazi, Hillary’s emails and her servers, before it’s all over.
I drove through western Pennsylvania in August of ‘69. The steel mills were running around the clock. May have been war related since Vietnam was still going on, who knows. Anyway the people had jobs and the cities were prosperous, the ruin had yet to come. But according to our global trade friends we are all better off now.
I know. It’s more of the same garbage we keep getting out of D.C.
I have no income and it’s been very, very rough since Bam-Bam took office.
But hey, I can get a cheap dishrag at Wal-Mart. If I can find enough change in a parking lot.
