World agrees with Trump: Immigrants take jobs, services
The Washington Examiner ^ | 3/24/2016 | PAUL BEDARD

A near majority of Americans and vast swaths of the world community agree with Republican presidential front runner Donald Trump that immigrants take the jobs and services of native citizens.

Ipsos Public Affairs just released a survey on "Trump's America First" campaign and the global impact of anti-immigrant rhetoric and found that the U.S. falls above world averages on the questions of the harmful impact of immigrants on jobs and services.

For Americans, 49 percent "believe that immigrants take jobs away," and "62 percent think the same about social services," said Ipsos.

Globally, 41 percent believe that "immigrants take jobs away from real citizens of given country."

Also globally, 49 percent believe that "immigrants take social services away from real citizens of given country," said Ipsos.

Politically in the United States, there is an expected divide between Democrats and Republicans on the issues demonstrated in the differences between supporters of Trump and Hillary Rodham Clinton over the issue of robbing jobs. Some 60 percent of Trump supporters, and just 35 percent of Clinton supporters, believe immigrants take the jobs of native Americans.

It’s time for a fifty year moratorium on ALL immigration to this country. It will take that long to completely assimilate the foreign born who are here now.

The serious problem we are having with drugs makes more people unemployable, I know illegals do and deal in drugs, but I don't know where that leaves the employment picture. Not good for low-wage jobs which tons of illegals are now filling from my understanding.

It would be better for career positions not to have to compete against H1B and immigrants; there could be some problem with drugs with them, too. My assessment is based on the huge uptick number of arrests in my area coupled with the serious problems with heroin almost everywhere now.

Employers want people who are good workers, I don't know where honesty and ethics stand these days, presume some are very trustworthy.

How can that true statement even be in dispute?

Yeah, but they vote for the left-wingers who invite them in to change their country's demographics.

So it's full speed ahead.

Maybe longer: I can't seem to go an hour without hearing "an American" with a foreign accent.

Today, at my house, I was surrounded by contracted workers on a County sewer project—only one of whom I could carry on a conversation in unaccented English.

The idea of free nations is under attack all over the world. The globalist elites have managed to make Nationalism a dirty word.

I live in an area with lots of Russian immigrants with accents and I don’t mind at all. Especially the women.

"How can that true statement even be in dispute?"

It has no basis in fact.

It is incorrectly based on the false assumption that there is a finite number of jobs.

Immigration actually creates jobs because it increases the number of consumers, increases demand.

You add the birth rate(12.29 per 1000) to the immigration rate(3.86 per 1000), then deduct the death rate(8.15 per 1000) and you arrive at the population growth rate(0.78%). The numbers in parenthesis are from the CIA Factbook.

Without immigration, the US would have a negative population growth rate, which would cause economic output to contract.

Plus, immigration lowers the median age of the population and the workforce.

Trump says he will deport all illegals, but that would crash the economy, especially in those states where the illegals are congregated, such as TX, NM, CA, NV, FL, and AZ.

The existing housing market would collapse, followed by the new housing market. The used car market would collapse followed by the new car market.

Lucky you.

Last project I had around the homestead(another coming soon), there was only ONE I could barely converse with in broken-English (whole lot of head-nodding, si/yes, but very little comprehension. Took multiple times to convey meaning)...the rest? not a lick.

Trump is not even President and he has already impacted the world! He is courageously leading conversations on very important issues! THAT'S LEADERSHIP!!!

And I'm sure if the same survey asked about Trump, most of those people probably wouldn't even know who he is, much less have been persuaded by him. These are sentiments that were already there. And how does the world globally agree with Trump? From the article itself:

Globally, 41 percent believe that "immigrants take jobs away from real citizens of given country."
Also globally, 49 percent believe that "immigrants take social services away from real citizens of given country," said Ipsos.

These are yes/no questions. if only 40% are agreeing with these statements, then 60% disagree. (49/51.) Usually the statement of a group agreeing with something implies that the majority of the group agrees with that (plurality when there are more than 2 choices). So, the title is incorrect, and the world actually does not agree with Trump.

We would have to see what number of illegals are truly working versus the numbers on government handouts. An improved economic market would create more jobs for the millions of Americans not working, people who want to work but cannot find it now.
