The big question for Cruz is whether this baton pass does more damage than good among anti-establishment voters, even if it does boost movement conservatives. Newsmaxs Nick Sanchez believes that Jebs conservative track record in Florida will buffer the downside, and giving Cruz and the Tea Party access to the establishment donor base will pay dividends as well:
3. The Bush family has a national network of supporters Money alone cannot win an election, and as Cruz demonstrated right off the bat in the Iowa caucus tapping into the network of bottom-up grassroots organizing can often ensure a victory. Because Jebs father and brother were both presidents, not only will the Cruz campaign now benefit from the Bushs contacts in the organizing world, but likely from the familys network of advisors and strategists too.
4. Jeb gives the Cruz campaign the balance it needs Cruz has long been considered by many to be too conservative and unlikeable to win, but Jeb clearly disagrees with that sentiment and sees a true winner. Cruzs reputation as a fire-starter will be moderated by Bushs steady and so-called establishment record of getting things done.
Perhaps, but that could be better accomplished by convincing Kasich to join him as running mate, and would not carry as many negatives. In order for this to pay off, Cruz has to be seen coming off the baton pass as his own man, with others coming to Cruzs banner on his terms rather than theirs.

Or a Cruz sell-out.
Or another baton toss in the stop-Trump movement.
Geesh, selling out pays off.
Just sickening.
I guess “baton-pass” is a nice way of saying “slap in the face” now?
It isnt Donald Trump, whose withering insults have sought to make Jeb pay a political price for his brothers presidency. It isnt Marco Rubio, Jebs former understudy who now poses a serious threat to his establishment support.
Its George W. Bushs former employee Ted Cruz.
I just dont like the guy, Bush said Sunday night, according to conversations with more than half a dozen donors who attended the event.
One donor in the room said the former president had been offering mostly anodyne accounts of how the Bush family network views the current campaign and charming off-the-cuff jokes, until he launched into Cruz.”
This was just a few months ago. The Bushes hate Cruz. They are only using him to create a brokered convention.

That is exactly what the Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney, and Lindsey Graham endorsements are all about.
Jeb’s endorsement, Neil Bush now in the campaign, Jeb’s complete finance team now in the campaign. Endorsed by Miss Lindsey, Jeb, Rick Perry, Neil Bush, Cruz now has the overpowering stink of warmed over Bush all over him.
Trump is our one and only chance for a “bloodless” revolution.
They can take their damn baton and...

Jeb Bush seems a little confused by some of the rhetoric being tossed around by the GOP’s 2012 presidential frontrunners in debates and out on the campaign trail.
I used to be a conservative and I watch these debates and I'm wondering, I don't think I've changed, but it's a little troubling sometimes when people are appealing to people's fears and emotion rather than trying to get them to look over the horizon for a broader perspective and that's kind of where we are, said the former Florida Governor. I think it changes when we get to the general election. I hope.
If it were Trump you guys would claim its proof Trump “own3s the GOP”.
lol...love how they’re trying to spin the establishments attempt to steal this from Trump using Cruz who has no legitimate way to win enough delegates.
I don’t think anyone really cares anything about Jeb...
GOP establishment lining up behind Cruz because a bought and paid for career politician always does the bidding of his big donors.
My thoughts exactly! Sell Out
They are only using him to create a brokered convention.

I think at a brokered convention, Trump and Cruz are things of the past. The GOPe will coalease around
someone they can agree on and eventually pull the numbers together for that candidate. IMO we
need a winner going in by elected delegates not some brokered convention.
What a nonsensical article...who is stupid enough to believe that?

This one - where to start? LOL
So do the “true conservatives” now love the Bush family?
