38% of Companies to Reduce Employment in 2016, Only 29% Expect Increase: Five Consequences

Is the part-time hiring binge that has inflated job numbers for at least two years about to come to an end?

I think so. More importantly, so do CEOs of large corporations.

In December, a quarterly survey of large corporation CEOs showed a minuscule net of 1% (35% to 34%) of corporations expected an increase in hiring. 31% expected no change.

The latest quarterly survey shows nearly 10% (29% to 38%) of large corporation CEOs expect to reduce headcount. The remaining 33% expect no change.

This can’t be true

Obama told us that anyone telling us there’s trouble in the economy are peddling fiction

I have a small business that is dying for qualified employees. Can’t find ‘em to save my life.

I hear that a lot.

In fact, I've heard it enough times that I'm convinced our biggest problem is that a lot of unemployed Americans are actually unemployable.

-—’qualified employees
.

.
.
for us that’s the kicker at times as well, but they don’t teach welding, machining, or common sense in high school anymore.

when I interview a kid (our union kids come from the union hall usually, and they are somewhat better), I ask a few basic questions. Two of the questions I ask are: “can you read a ruler?” If they answer yes, I ask “how many thirty seconds are in an inch?” Now, you might think I’m joking here... about HALF can answer the question.

So, if you have a job that requires anything more than that, I reckon I can sympathize with you.

Good Luck, Welfare and HUD pay pretty good I hear, especially when you throw in free health care and food stamps(EBT) equals about a $50K per year JOB

SO if you aren’t paying more than $75K, it just isn’t worth getting up early and missing Oprah or Ellen

I know somebody who also has a small business and they say the same thing you do

He says everyone that applies are people that don’t want to work and seem to think they should be able to show up whenever they want

This country deserves every ounce of misery it gets. The American people overwhelmingly elected 0bama to two terms despite how bad he had done. And even today he continues to enjoy good approval numbers from the people and is being hailed for his trip to Cuba. I saw a poll last week where more people blame the bad economy on the Republicans and they credit 0bama for trying to take them on. Way to go America. Let’s put Hillary in now!

Yup. I know I can’t find people willing to work so I only take on the projects my core group can handle. I got too tired of explaining to people how a ratchet wrench works.

Take away the food stamps, phones, the government goodies and I bet they’ll learn how a ratchet wrench works

It would also help if momma threw the “kids” out of the basement when they reach the age of 25.

“Out of curiosity define “qualified”.”

Can pass a drug and background check, has a valid driver’s license, and at least a modicum of experience in the job being offered.

That’s just the bare bones starting point. I have other things I like to see in a prospective employee.
