What effort to get Cruz to fold? A bunch of keyboard kommandos here, maybe, but I don’t see where Trump has called for Cruz to get out. He has called for party unity, but that was aimed at the establishment.
I have not called for Cruz to get out. As long as people will fund him, have at it. Trump will win whether Cruz stays in or gets out and whether Kasich stays in or gets out. I have merely pointed out that if Cruz were thinking straight, he’d cut a deal with Trump, like, yesterday. That is assuming Trump will still take his call. As soon as Trump gets to 1237 he becomes the presumptive leader of the GOP, which is, ultimately, what all the GOPe caterwauling is about. Trump will then decide who gets what. If I were Cruz and wanted a future in politics, I’d think about making nice with my party’s soon-to-be-leader and prepare to run again later.
