Ted would be in a different position had he not taken the South for granted. Donald didn’t and he won Teds natural constituency
Possibly true, but Cruz did campaign in the South; he just couldn't draw the crowds that Trump did.
I’ve grown to wonder about this “natural constituency” business. I’m not sure Ole Ted is what he’s been presented to be. If that had been true, the ‘natural constituency’ would have stuck by him.
Instead, his and his campaign’s conduct thru this campaign has not been that of an honorable, thoroughbred conservative. Rather, it’s been highly deceptive. And certainly ‘up for sale to the highest bidder.’ No ‘sticking to principles’ as some would have had it. It’s been a total, disappointing turnoff.
