In fact, even during a May 2012 speech at Liberty University, founded by the late televangelist Jerry Falwell, Romney would only speak in general terms about a "Christian conscience" but would not specifically mention his own religion

In Iowa, we saw that "whatever it takes to win" attitude. Why are folks still supporting and defending him?

The irony is that more candidates might still be in the running if it weren't for Cruz's tactics.

I would think that Mormons would find Glenn Beck’s pronouncement that Cruz is the “fulfillment of Mormon prophecy” to be offensive.

I think that it is Cruz’s association with Glenn Beck that has turned off many Evangelical voters. Cruz had hundreds of paid staff in SC, had the endorsement of over 300 Evangelical pastors spread through every county, and poured in lots of money there, but failed to win a single county. Remember, at that time Glenn Beck was going around and saying that Cruz had been sent by God to guide us thru the rapture, and that Scalia’s death was part of God’s plan to get us to vote for Cruz. I think most people found that rather bizarre and offensive.

Romney is seeking to deny Trump the nomination, saying he was "repulsed" by the "racism, misogyny, bigotry, xenophobia, vulgarity and, most recently, threats and violence" associated with the real estate magnate’s candidacy.

A person making wild, unsubstantiated claims that are NOT true, is a person who does not practice his faith, ehhh?

Such claims are Romney's wishes, that he knows are not true. Someone who misrepresents the facts deliberately and so publicly is a vicious liar. What faith is that?

Cruz knows that Romney has what it takes to lie his way to be a lawless "King", like Goldman Cruz.

Trump asked a crowd if Mitt Romney was really a Mormon.
So by his own words he was either ignorant or questioning Romney’s faith.
Stupid or mean, take your pick.
Just the facts, Mam, just the facts.

If it’s fair to question Romney’s Mormonism then is it also fair to question Trump’s Presbyterianism?

Ironic that those who said even worse about Romney (and Mormonism) will jump to his side because Cruz has (what kind of deals is Cruz making anyway .. what is being promised for a shot if he manages a contested convention???) decided to protect his latest benefactor????

Weren't we all up in arms here a while back when the Pope questioned Trump's faith?

I'm sure someone will be along shortly to explain to us all (and try to justify to themselve's) why this is different.

What a liar this writer is. Trump did not attack Mormonism; he attacked Romney personally because of the disgraceful human being he is.

OTOH, I have no problem attacking Romney, Beck, and Cruz for being involved in insidious cults.

Romney saying that he is "repulsed" by the "racism, misogyny, bigotry, xenophobia, vulgarity and, most recently, threats and violence" associated with the real estate magnate’s candidacy, IS WHAT IS DESPICABLE!! and Cruz is likewise for attempting to make political hay out of this red herring. It means Cruz not only thinks he's so smart, he also believes we are SO DUMB!!

BTW, religious freedom DOES NOT mean we can't engage in the critique of another religion.

Would be willing to wager I could find, within 30 minutes, 30 different articles from 2012 curb-stomping Mormonism from the same Cruz'r Religion Forum ***** who are embracing & enabling Bishop Dullard & Joseph Smith right now.

In fact, I bet I could find 30 responses this year from the same ***** who besmirched wee Bishop Dullard right up to last week before he aligned with Cruz.
