I was a registered Republican here in California until I got so disgusted with the RNC I went and changed to Independent in 2007. Well a few weeks ago a large yellow card came from the Registrar of Voters informing me that I was invited to the Democratic Primary but to be able to vote for a Republican President I would need to re-register as a Republican. So I did just that so I could vote for Trump. In speaking with friends they do not seem to be aware of this. Inn essence, California has a closed primary for the selection of President.

This is a Republican choice, allowing only registered Republicans to vote in the primary. The other parties did not close their primaries to other party’s registered voters. My ex received a similar postcard, here, in Orange County. I went from no party to registered GOP in 1992, so I could vote in the primaries, but have grown increasingly disgusted with the party. I feel like Reagan did about the Dems of his era, my party has left me.
