(Military Times) – In an exclusive survey of American military personnel, Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders emerged as active-duty service members’ top choices to become the next commander in chief...
...they do show that the outsider candidates’ messages are resonating with noncommissioned officers, who fill leadership roles at the small unit level, and with the officers and enlisted personnel who are on track to spend full careers in the service...
...The data suggest that military personnel have not been dissuaded by political rivals who contend Trump and Sanders have weak foreign policy credentials and don’t have recognized experts as national security advisers. -

Interesting. The Spanish navy and air force broke for the red Republic during the Spanish Civil War. The army broke for the Nationalists. Interesting coincidence, worth a few obscure papers somewhere.

(I’m too lazy right now to go read the whole story, but...)
It appears they added all the responses together, w/o differentiating R from D.
When the Republican responses are considered separately, the numbers would appear to be:
Cruz: 27.6%
Kasich: 12.7%
Rubio: 15.3%
Trump: 44.4%
(This doesn’t count the “Other” votes.)

Look at that sobering poll, and reflect that Obama WOULD be able to find some large number of military people willing to follow a Democrat’s orders to attack conservatives.

33.1% voted for a Democrat / Liberal or Socialist.
60.6% voted for a Republican / Conservative.
6.2% voted for Other.
