With more of a whimper than a bang, the 2012 GOP nominee has made his preference clear. As POLITICO’s Nolan D. McCaskill reports MITT ROMNEY declared he would be caucusing for TED CRUZ on Tuesday in Utah’s primary — an endorsement, of sorts.
The former Massachusetts governor said he believes no one will win the nomination outright by accruing the necessary 1,237 delegates, which would lead to multiple ballots at a contested convention. “At this stage, the only way we can reach an open convention is for Senator Cruz to be successful in as many of the remaining nominating elections as possible,” Romney said in a Facebook post.

Cruz catches Mitt and there’s no cure.
So if TED now is the go to RINO guy how do we trust him as a conservative because this is a quid pro quo bizzness and Mittens and Lindsey and others will want something from Ted in return that is what the insurgency is fighting against...

Cruz REALLY SHOULD be thinking about his political future, rather than being OBSESSED with stopping Trump so that Romney (or Jeb, or Linda) can be the GOP nominee.
I live in Texas. Cruz is up for re-election in 2018. I HOPE that I am able to vote for him - but if his efforts wind up with me having to (not) vote for Romney (or Jeb, or Linda), then he simply WILL NOT have my vote in the 2018 Primary.

It’s one thing to receive an endorsement from a loathsome person or group… one can’t really stop people from endorsing whoever they want. It’s another to personally express thanks for such endorsements.
Mitt isn’t in this just to stop Trump, IMO. He looks to me to be an undeclared candidate.
Maybe the voters of Utah who support Romney should honor him by writing his name in.
When I was a kid we used to go trolling for trout and steelhead. Sometimes we would catch carp, and we would whack their heads on the boat and throw them to the pelicans.
Don’t know why the headline made me think of that.

I believe he sold his residence in Mass. He has homes in California, Utah and his summer home in New Hampshire.
At this point, Ted is just a flailing afterthought.
Utah is his last hope for a win in the next month or so. After Trump wins AZ on Tuesday, there’s WI, NY, CT, MD, DE, PA... all going to go to Trump, easily.
The only real factor at this point is what stupid things Cruz is going to continue to do, which will be the difference between him placing in the low teens, or single digits. If he blames Trump for a couple more BLM protests, I expect he’ll reach pre-dropout Carson numbers.
