Warren Davidson picked up the GOP nomination to run for the seat in Congress left open by John Boehner in Tuesdays primary, the Associated Press reported.
Davidson, 46, of Concord Township, had 32 percent of the vote with 98 percent of districts reporting for the 8th District seat.
Following him were Timothy Derickson with 24 percent and Bill Beagle with 20 percent. It was a crowded field with more than a dozen candidates seeking the nomination.
Davidson is an Army veteran who has served as a township trustee. He works as the managing director of Integral Manufacturing in Troy and Fairfield.
In his campaign, Davidson has focused on economic growth and national security as two priorities.

Does anyone know anything about Davidson? I’ve never heard of him or kept track of this primary. Input from Ohio Freepers is encouraged.
With all due respect to Ivana Trump, I suspect that she is probably no more aware Congresss constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers than Sen. Sanders probably is.
What a battle of donors!

“...While Jordan, FreedomWorks and the Club (which spent more than $1 million) endorsed Davidson,
Defending Main Street, a super PAC with ties to establishment Republicans in Congress, ran an ad campaign against Davidson. And Right Way Initiative, a new nonprofit dedicated to electing constructive conservatives, spent more than $680,000 backing Derickson and opposing Davidson.”
Must be good, may be weak on immigration.
I think you posted to the wrong thread.
Sorry for post 3. Wrong thread.
The media has been grousing he is a Tea Partier. He did have Conservative endorsements. If he had the Weeping Boner’s nod, you’d know he was a bad guy.
Yes I did.
West Point graduate, served in US Army.
Ohio ping
On (to P. Ryno’s part of) Wisconsin.
Another repudiation of the establishment, though how long the guy lasts, who knows?
I thought FreedomWorks and CfG went neutral on illegal immigration several years ago.
HOOAH! I certainly do. Enlisted in the Army, went to West Point, became an officer, went to Airborne and Ranger School, served in the 75th Ranger Regiment, then left the Army to take over his family’s manufacturing business. Since then, he’s acquired (I believe) two more small manufacturing businesses.
VERY conservative guy who’s not on Boehner’s Christmas card list...
In other words, he’s a combat veteran, a businessman and a conservative.
Pretty nice resume, but the part about not being on Boehners mailing list?
THAT is the CLINCHER!
If crying John don’t like him that is a huge endorsement.
They spend money on Trump but none on wrecking McCain.
Hell, “Weeping Johnny’s” probably still sniveling about it!
The Prince of Tears.
I wonder how often he climbs out of the liquor bottle now that he is retired?
He probably doesn’t!
